Any feedback on the Graham Phantom Hello Sirspeedy:Thanks for your treatise on 2.2 damping fluid level tuning on another thread. The Phantom seems to be a more rigid design with improved resonance damping across the frequency spectrum. Wouldnt these improvements be manifested even ...
1970's Audio Research Equipment, worth having? I also owned the SP9 MKI and MKII, the SP14, LS2B MKI and MKII and currently the LS25 MKI. They were all very good to excellent preamps. The SP9 MKII is a steal on the used equiptmet market. One of my friends who is also a dealer still uses the SP...
1970's Audio Research Equipment, worth having? I bought an ARC D76A from Lyric in 1977. I sold it to a friend about 8 years ago. I continue to be impressed with that magical midrange (he is using it to to drive a MG 3.6). I still regret selling it to him. I also owned the D115 MKII for 12 year...
cones or amp stand-??? Ohlala et al:It is simple, just try it in your systems. Who cares what Shannon Dickson wrote in November, 1995? What mkes him an authority on vibration control? I happen to agree with Stehno. My previous house had concrete slab on the ground floor....
Any feedback on the Graham Phantom Dougdeacon:Would you prefer the term "refinements" instead?
Any feedback on the Graham Phantom Thanks for the feedback. I have an Oracle Delphi MKV SE. I am planning on purchasing the Phantom. I may delay my purchase until the second manufacturing cycle to ensure that all the bugs associated with a new product are sorted out.
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions Bombaywalla:I think your flawed logic shows quite a bit of audio inexperience. I have heard the Ref 1 in many different systems and I find it a very musical preamp. It may not be every one's cup of tea, but it is a very fine preamp nevertheless.
Cables for Richard Gray conditioner sgreent:Your observation apppears to be restricted to your system only.I have 3 RGPC in paralell with amps and subs plugged in with excellent results.Incidentially, I am using using an Elrod EPS3 Signature for the main RGPC.
Active Biamping of Your Dreams for Magneplanars I disagree with Zt1000. Have you tried active bi-amping?I am actively bi-amping my Magnepan 3.5 with a Tube Marchand electronic x-over. The results are spectacular.See my review at the following site:http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.pl?forum=MUG&a...
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions Soundoc:Those are technical attributes that you have described. Is it more musical than the Ref 2?ThanksGeo
Blind Power Cord Test & results Drubin:I agree that you can hear differnces "right away" in most cases. However, my point was that conclusions based on initial impressions could be quite "misleading".I guess we are on the same page.
Blind Power Cord Test & results I have experimented with several power cords over the years spanning the price range from $100 to $3000 . I have observed that all of these cables irrespective of pedigree require some "settling time" of up to several hours to sound their best. Co...
Subwoofer Cables. How important is quality? I suppose if you are tone deaf, cables will make very little difference. I have had the opposite experience using various cables in low to high end systems over the past 35 years
Tube suggestions for Audio Research VT 100 The upgrade from the MKI to MKII is a major step up in perfromance. I own the MKII and prefer the tonal balance of the MKII to the MKIII which uses an hybrid input section (FET/6H30). Recommended output power tubes would be the Sevetlana 6550C. Yo...
Analysis Plus Interconnects The Oval 8 will reach its optimal performance level after a minimum of about 300 hours. |
