Tweaking Your Speaker Placement think 1/8" increments is pretty severe that’s why I chose to be born in Europe and learned SI. 3mm is a distance everyone understands. No one every started a thread with "how do I move my speakers 3mms?"
Thoughts on Speakers for a Small Audio/Video Room the forum page keeps the original height of the image and sets the width of the image to the column width/div width which is why it's distorted - ends up "tall" and narrow. You manually have to change the height...
What should I look for when purchasing a quality album? I usually end up keeping 1 out of 5 those albums. I clean them, with a VPI vacuum cleaner, put them in a new sleeve, etc. But, overall, am I a slob? Yes. Do I have $30+ for an album? No. I absolutely love to find these gems, with notes on the alb...
What should I look for when purchasing a quality album? The cheapest option is to buy bulk. Estate sales, shopgoodwill are fun ways to find albums. You’d spend 30 bucks for 10 or so albums, and some will sure be good quality. Used record stores are the second best option. All my favorite and best sound...
Package Has Disappeared in USPS System @devinplombier sellers are responsible to get the stuff to your door. And NO, we don't need to chill. When my delivery is late to my client, they rip me a new one and I can just hope to keep the contract We should expect exactly what it says in t...
Can I write a CD of random songs - without access to streaming? @oberoniaomnia I started to track down the CDs which is fun, also. Except, of course, if something is hard to get on streaming, it may be hard to get on CDs as well. Nick Drake is - as they say - the Van Gogh of music. (Or maybe the Vermeer from...
YOUR AUDIOPHILE JOURNEY WHEN DID IT START AND HOW DID YOU GET TO YOUR DREAM SYSTEM? @immatthewj I want to long version! (But you knew that) My hifi journey is closely tied with my story of building the opportunity of and moving to the US. It could not have happened without being into audio. Funny how things are all related.
Package Has Disappeared in USPS System that's what bothers me always, the advertised conditions. E.g. 3 business days. Then it takes 8. By which time my shipment is useless. Glad you got the package. My record was 94 days, a lost suitcase on Brussels airline. When it arrived, it wa...
Paid for UPS shipping and the package was immediately sent to the US Post Office. I chose UPS Saver one time. It said flexible delivery between 3 and 7 business days. It did NOT say what it was: delivering it to the nearest Post Office and then let them kick it down the road for 2 weeks. "Smart!"
The last 20 years of Home Power Have Been Amazing there are two holes in the wall, where I insert the plug and the thing at the other end of the wire lights up. That's how far I got, so far...
Anyone read this NYT story about analog audio bars? What we desperately need is vintage audio repair shops. Combine it with a listening room, cafe, travel agency, barber shop, I don’t care… (I am not audiophile material so hanging with audiophiles isn’t my thing 🫣)
HOW DID YOU END UP WITH YOUR DREAM SYSTEM?
Package Has Disappeared in USPS System @old_ears by design, in today’s wild and crazy climate, you cannot politicize stuff (more than it is already deeply immersed in who managed to send it downhill). Everything is political, even if we ignore it.
Package Has Disappeared in USPS System @thecarpathian I spent over a 100 hours with UPS about an amount I can't write down here (it was so small). But it was not about the money but whole system breaking down, and them acknowledging the screwup. And then the cover up of the cover up ...
