Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
Managed to purchase a Technics EPA-100 mkII to match with the Technics EPC-205mkIV cartridge on my Micro Seiki BL-99V table.  So far so good.  Not perfect yet, still tweaking.  The tonearm is very light and easily adjusted with VTA and anti-skate ...
Tidal removing all MQA
Vinyl and streaming or just quality digital files all have something to offer us audiophiles.  Quality sound, ease of playing, etc.  I go either way (No pun intended).  Sometimes I’ll just load up a bunch of music in JRiver and kick back to listen...
Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
Never owned an EPA-100 arm but thinking I would like to! Yes the store was on Wilshire. I had a small store in Orange County, CA and sold Micro, Saec and many other products like Quad, Counterpoint, Music Reference, etc. Those were fun days befor...
Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
Thanks.  I used to sell Micro Seiki turntables and Saec back in the 80’s.  One thing was the Saec double knife edge bearings were much better then most other companies.  Even Micro Seiki used them on their turntables and even at the audio shows wh...
Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
So I’ve been looking for information on this Dr. Sa Win and the manual you speak of.  I am not able to find anything on Dr. Sa Win or what you speak of about knife edge chatter.  Could you refer me to this information please.  I’ve also never hear...
Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
Very interesting!   I had never heard this.  I’ll have to research that.  Hoping the Stanton Epoch II HZ7S cartridge performs well in the 407/TM.
Tonearm/Cart Matching Assistance - SAEC 407/23
I had the Saec ceramic headshell back in the 80’s using it on a Saec 407/23 and 506/30. These were on my Micro Seiki RX-1500VG table. I tried the Saec ceramic headshell on several MC cartridges including Highphonic, Saec and others back in the day...
Anyone listen to entire albums?
The comments are interesting here.  I’m one of those that usually listens to the entire album, one side after the other in a sitting.  With digital on my server run by JRiver, I typically pick and choose songs through the app unless I like the who...

So is the HG so easy a caveman could use it?
Schitt Yggdrasil More is Better
I’m always surprised when people say the Schitt Yggdrasil LIM is warm sounding.  I always felt the opposite.  It is one of the early versions of LIM #148.  My system is a very detailed system consisting of the ET LFT-8b speakers w/upgraded crossov...
Wonder Why No Japanese Retippers?
@rauliruegas I got into high end audio back in the early/mid 80’s.  In the early 90’s I was selling Micro Seiki, Saec, Highphonic cartridges as well as various USA and English equipment and speaker brands.  We modified a lot of tube equipment and ...
Tube Rolling
Brent Jesse’s site is a fantastic resource of information.  When you want a little info on a tube’s characteristic sound it’s there. He himself has always been helpful to me in finding uncommon tubes that he didn’t even know existed.   whenever so...
I found the best way to recycle my old tubes!
What a bright idea!  It’s brilliant! Love it.
Is There Just One Single Album That Does It For You, Completely? Just One.
As everyone mentions, it’s hard to choose just one.  If I had to do it then I’d take “Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway”.   It has a little of various modes on it and is still one (ONE) of my all time Genesis favorites. Hopefully I’d find ...
Swiss Digital FUSE BOX Question Thread
Yes good idea.  I was thinking about that. Try one at a time and see how it goes.  Maybe I can pick up a Swiss Fuse Box and try it different places and go from there. I already have some cheaper upgraded fuses in all the equipment and a Gustard Na...
