Single vs Double Bi-wire....should I reconsider? Hmm, I hadn't thought of that - I'll double check the Vandersteen specs against the AQ spades. Thanks.
A little help please That started before I left the audition room. One of the first things John did was play something on them using a better amp and source so I could hear what the speakers were capable of.Still, while I look forward to that next upgrade - I'm enjoyi...
DIY AC Cable advice Thanks, I was looking for bare copper, and having a hard time.

DIY AC Cable advice Williwonka- Great information and very timely for me. I have two questions, if you will. 1. What stud size on the spades?2. Do you have additional sourcing information? I can only find tin plated or really expensive spades, e.g. Cardas. Thank you.
A little help please Yeah, John's so different from the guy I was dealing with in Summit. The main difference - John wants to educate, inform and help someone without knowledge so they can make their own decision that is best for them. The guys in Summit, I feel, took...

A little help please Beware - long post.I first listened to the 2's and a pair of quatro ct through an Aesthetix Atlas and unknown preamp. Wow - the speakers are capable of some amazing sound reproduction; at least to my 54 year old ears. After getting an idea of di...
A little help please Here is another options pieced together. The sig 2 with a Demo Cary CAD-120S MkII for $3900 and as yet undetermined Pre-amp. Keeps the tubes and leaves me with a path forward towards the Quad or other speaker in the future.Like I said, I'll know ...
A little help please Funny you posted that as I was typing the above about keeping the PL. I like the way the PL sounds, I guess I'm power shy having been bitten with the Arro issue. I'll know a lot more tomorrow when I visit Audio Connection.
A little help please On the other side of the coin - If the PL plays well with the Sig 2 (either model). I could skip the amp upgrade and look to upgrade source. I could sell the Rega, buy an iMAC and upgrade the DAC. On the plus side I also have a new laptop.
A little help please Ha ha ha. Surprisingly JMR hasn’t responded to my email. I could drive to Boston and visit my brother in law. Here is my current thought - I would LOVE some input as it’s a complete rethinking.Given the fact that my amp is low power, but I like the...
