A little help please Well that was disappointing to learn. I bought the totems after listening to them at my dealers with his better PL amp. I trusted the guy, bummed to hear he steered me wrong. So giving consideration to the future, might I be better off upgrading...
A little help please OK, I just soldered in new Focal tweeters into the JM Lab boxes and placed them on top of the Arro speakers. Right now I'm wishing I didn't buy the Totems.
A little help please Thanks akg_ca. So reading your post I'm coming away with the feeling that you're saying that I could likely find some improvement with positioning the Arro and try some different speaker cables. (Currently running Kimber Kable 4PR). I hadn't looke...
That's not right - but what's wrong? Oh - forgot to mention, the amps are pretty far apart, the new one is on the floor, the other is a couple feet above. The wires do run near each other though as the sources are between or above (DAC) the top amp. Perhaps twisting them around each ...
That's not right - but what's wrong? Thanks all.Elizabeth, the diagonal wiring is this: there are (+) and (-) spades for the tweeter and the woofer. Instead of wiring to the tweeter or the woofer and using the binding clamps to transfer to the other, the speaker wires are connected t...

Speaker Placement Issue/Thoughts I'm wondering about two things that may be it.First, you body position is canted making your left ear face the speaker more. Second, your left speaker's output is coming at you, and also bouncing off the left wall and rear wall when reaching your ...
Just wanted to share my joy, and ask two questions Thanks, I think I'll opt for the Adona floor protectors with neoprene foam isolation pads on the bottom.
Just wanted to share my joy, and ask two questions Thanks to you both.Don - the Arro speakers have a bottom port that is mass loaded by adding clean play sand, silica sand, or odor-less kitty litter to them. The manual says you may not need anything and suggests adding a little at a time. See http...
Just wanted to share my joy, and ask two questions Thanks. The manual says to load in small amounts and stop when you get where you want it. I'm reading between the lines of your post to reach the conclusion that you would suggest filling until it's full.
Repair or Replace my JM Labs Micron Carats Now I had a whole other idea - fix the one woofer and buy a new Arcam FMJ P38 Amp that I can connect to the Creek to give me a much more powerful amp which might draw better performance out of the Micron Carats and also afford more options for spe...
Repair or Replace my JM Labs Micron Carats Thanks Chrisr. I hadn't thought about going the modify route but that's an excellent suggestion. I'll send zylatron an email. My only concern there would be not being able to audition. Based on what I've been reading in my review search, I'm also ...
Repair or Replace my JM Labs Micron Carats Thanks Mechans. He typically carries higher end components and wouldn't have most of those in stock. Last time I was in the store to buy the DAC I only saw a couple of bookshelf speakers on display (I don't know what). Before going to audition what...
Repair or Replace my JM Labs Micron Carats I should also add that I have Energy Veritas V1.0 CM speakers in my kitchen ceiling and they're much focused on the highs (I guess what's referred to as bright) for my taste. I prefer something more in range with the Carats. |
