Rougue Thanks guys, luckily I was able to fix the issue myself. I must have had a bad tube which blew a fuse, so replaced the fuse and had some EL34's that will suffice till I replace them with the KT90's. Back up and running before the weekend has ended...
Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth" Abchand, that is the very same issue I was hearing..........specifically in the left channel. I am waiting for my new copy to arrive and will post when I have an update.
Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth" Interesting update to this...........I have taken my copy to 2 different audio systems and heard it on both, one to a lesser degree, but it was heard by myself and the other listeners.....very strange?? Possible bad pressing? I have no idea due to...

Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth" good input from everyone, thanks. for the record, I have a Rega P5 with an ortofon 2M black cartridge, not yet broken in (about 25hours on it) all fed through a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum int amp with MM onboard phono pre amp. I will check the cart...

Mapleshade bedrock stands for large monitors I will email you my DIY version that I used to evaluate Mapleshade's stands the best I could to try it. He does offer a 30 day money back guarantee as well.
Mapleshade bedrock stands for large monitors Interesting responses, I guess it's all about choice. That is what is fun and crazy about this hobby. I will continue to experiment until I find the best sound I can live with. I do appreciate and welcome any further discussion.
Mapleshade bedrock stands for large monitors I guess I should clarify "different", as not necesarily better. Bass has a bit more punch, mids are a little more forward and the treble sounds a bit rolled off. Soundstage is a little creepy in that it floats "above" the speakers giving the illus...
which is better ? MC phono stage or MM+step-up ? Well my 2 cents is that I am using an on board phono stage off my Audio Research SP9MKIII with a LOMC (.5mv) and I have never had a more smooth, open, detailed, warm and "live" sound than I do now. But I am lucky in that the on board phono stage h...
Anyone using Goldring Carts? Thanks for all the info guys! I'm enjoying the Goldring as we speak. Great listening to all!
Ortofon 2M Red Not Happy Need advice I had a Bellari and took a chance on the Graham Slee Era Gold V. Very nice!
Ortofon 2M Red Not Happy Need advice DefelkaiIf this thread is still alive, one thing I noticed is that no one asked what phono pre amp you are using? Just curious as I recently upgraded to a much smoother preamp and it was night and day, even with "cheap" carts like the 2M Red.
Live room issues I have a floor rug on the wall directly behind my listening position and some drapes on the side walls, as well as a DIY bass trap in a corner. The room is 12' x 18' x 16' with the ceiling sloping down to around 12 feet.
Bellari VP 129 vs B&K Phono 10 The Bellari still seems to be the most musical and best of the bunch. Pretty impressive at or near it's price range. |
