An audio component you just can't let go
@scar972 I hear you and I would do the same. I still regret selling my Shindo Monbrison preamp from Ken Shindo era. Four years later, I am still searching for mint condition Monbrison preamp. Speaking of stainless steel chassis, THÖRESS comes to...
Recommendations for MM Phono ~ Tube or Solid State
@lewm Perhaps, you’re reading too much into this. I made it very clear that I’m not interested in one off bespoke products. Frankly, I did not quite understand the value in suggesting a product that pretty much unobtainable. My last comment was ...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
@calvinj  I am just pointing out a simple indisputable fact:  “IS-1 is not a one box solution for ROON users” Right or wrong, I let you be the judge of that :-)
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
@spkrplus  Lot of assumptions being made in your post instead of understanding the gist of my original post to @calvinj. Given your limited understanding of ROON and your strong preference for Audirvana, any further dialogue with you would be a f...
An audio component you just can't let go
“What makes this component so special?” Any component regardless of price or brand that allows you to connect with music is worth keeping around. A component must possess Musicality and the Synergy with rest of your audio gear. If a specific audi...
Recommendations for MM Phono ~ Tube or Solid State
“Strategic Product Placement comes to mind with the help of a friend or two.”@pindac  I couldn’t agree with you more, it certainly appears that way!
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
“But there are some guys that will shoot it down without hearing it.” There is a valid reason to do so, IS-1 is a half-baked product for ROON users. It appears to be designed targeted for audiences who prefers Audirvana. And that’s ok! Like most ...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
@calvinj  Never say never in this hobby especially if you’re trying to make a living in this business. There are no absolutes in audio just choices based on our own unique circumstances.
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
@calvinj I am in Texas and I appreciate the demo offer but any Roon based streamer with a requirement to maintain external CORE hardware is a non-starter for me. I don’t see any valid argument why core + renderer can’t be properly implemented in...
Innuos Zen MK3 tips and tricks
“settings for ripping CDs” It depends on your priorities. Do you have lot of CD’s to rip? Are you able to discern differences between WAC vs FLAC? I have upto 16TB of space, so my entire library of CD’s are in WAV. To my ears, WAV files sounds sl...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
“My Infigo IS-1 Streamer sounds better than my $12,000 Aurender N20 did. And, I also really like using Audirvana.” @hgeifman Glad to hear you are enjoying the IS-1. Just for my curiosity and to @audphile1 point, did you compare N20 with IS-1 side...

“I could swear it's a little softer sounding than my Innuos streamer.” @sls883  Rightfully so…your Innuos is a purpose built streamer designed to sound best with its proprietary Sense app. Just like Aurender is designed to sound best with its pro...
Current quality of Rune
@sls883  Innuos + Sense App provides a very good streaming experience. Sense app is well laid out but lacks the bells and whistles of Roon. I don’t think you loose much of sound quality streaming through Sense + Innuos but once you implement Roon...
Current quality of Rune
@sls883  Running Roon on a laptop is what I consider a basic set up. A good way to determine if you can get used Roon app interface and its features. If you like the Roon user interface (UI) then you can look into commercially successful hardware...

@lewm  Thank you for your recommendation on DSA. I will read up on its potential in my system. No offense but I will never consider buying a one off product due to my past experience. I lost over $11K in one such product :-(
