Do you adjust your subwoofer
@mijostyn  Thanks for your suggestions...  I have thought about adding a second sub for a more balanced 2-channel sound (cutting the volume by ~3db...).  I have a rather small listening-space (not really a room).  And space is at a premium, espec...
Any normal size speakers that sound like Volti
I had a pair of Vittora's about 8 years ago.  If I hadn't retired and moved to a much smaller living space, I'd have kept them.  They were beautiful !  If you love the sound, I'd say keep them !
Do you adjust your subwoofer
About 9 months ago, I added in an SVS Micro3000 subwoofer to my system. I have Charney Audio MaestroX speakers which are single-driver speakers and opted for the expensive AER-BD3 drivers. The MaestroX’s with those drivers are very revealing and c...
Pass Labs Preamps with tube amps?
I have both a great tube preamp and a Pass-Labs XP-22 preamp and I love both. I also have a great 300-B SET amplifier and three terrific flea-watt class-A solid-state amplifiers that I use with both preamps. When I first got the XP-22 preamp, I di...
There is none out there......
3rd from baylinor and jonwolfpell on the Innuos ZENith MK-III !  Terrific unit.  The  Innuos "Sense" app is a great controller...
"Diminishing Returns"
Personally, I am pretty happy with my present system and actually am honing down on the number of amplifiers I have, settling on potentially three that I enjoy a little more than the others for a few reasons.  I recently tried a set of rather expe...
Tidal or Qobuz
I pretty much agree with most about the difference between QoBuz and Tidal with QoBuz having slightly higher quality, same recording for same recording.  Both are good sources however after extensive listening to my favorite and familiar recording...
Blue Jeans Cable Iconoclast
Hi All... I was using a respectable cable line about 14 years ago and wanted to try cabling that was more affordable, just to see how they faired against my cables.  I chose Blue-Jeans cabling for both the speaker cables and RCA interconnects and...
Something Fishy with Brian Hoyer
If there are things that Brian Hoyer has done as a buyer or seller on A-Gon, then let's please keep it to that.  Most A-Gon members are fine, upright people and fair warning to others is much appreciated.  As for much of this conversation, I belie...
Let's Talk DAC's
I'm not sure what's been mentioned before, however the Gustard R26 R2R DAC has received rave reviews and at $1695 I believe is a really good DAC.  I personally don't have one however if you can find a friend or acquaintance that has one to auditio...
Resolving CD Transports Crowd Sourcing
I have a Jay's-Audio CD2-MK III transport.  It replaced a 47-Labs Flatfish/dumpty psu and it was certainly an upgrade sonically.  The CDT2 is a well-built and put together transport and after some break-in has been great.  I wanted one last produc...
Recommend me a DAC under 3k
You all shouldn't rule out the BorderPatrol DAC...  I have one and really enjoy it immensly !  The tube in the DAC can be switched in or out and is not in the analog circuitry  Not expensive, analog sounding, built here in the U.S. and Gary Dews i...
Ethernet connection for best sound quality
WOW...  A LOT of information thrown out here.  I know that along my digital journey, I started out with a good laptop used as a music server using JRiver as the software to manage the music sent to a good USB DAC.  While the sound was really good ...
Are higher end preamps worth the investment when you are only streaming Tidal & Spotify ?
Assuming based on your equipment you are looking for an analog line-level preamp.  In my experience, having a good high -fidelity preamp is very important in any listening environment.  Digital reproduction in general has certainly come of age as ...
DAC contest: Border Patrol Sei or Chord Qutest?
I have the pleasure of owning 2 BP DAC’s (one of which is now in the hands of my daughter) as well as a Denafrips Terminator Plus. While my present go-to DAC is the Denafrips, I really do like the BP DAC and I often switch between the two. While v...
