Any other Pipe And Slippers Audiophiles out there? As long as we're one-upping on numbers, I turn 76 in January. Along with age comes a long list of doctors (specialists) and an equally long list of medications On a serious note, my sister passed away last week from medullary thyroid cancer She w...
SACD is VERY confusing soix; I remember that war well. Sony had the technically superior format but convenience and longer play time won that war.
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? It just depends on your preferred distortion.
AddPowr Sorcer X4 -- Huh? Just meant that for a tweak, if you have rear speakers, You should try a spring reverb. It would give you a nice "boing-boing" echo. Kind of like yelling into a well. Toung in cheek. No offence intended.
For wi-fi streamers--a discovery to increase wi-fi strength I'm hard wired from my gateway to my Node and from Node to preamp. AT&T gigabit service. I've never experienced buffering or dropout. If you have to use wi-fi I suppose that can throw a monkey wrench into things.
Have you found your "End-Game" speakers yet? I have. And it feels so good!!! audioman58 Trying your best to burst his bubble? So, price is proportional to quality of sound.
AddPowr Sorcer X4 -- Huh? I think this is kind of like the spring reverb a friend of mine had in his 1957 Chevy (6 cylinder, 4 door , 3 on the tree). Had an AM radio since FM was not yet a thing in our area. No 8 track or Cassette either, not invented yet. That was our ve...
I am streaming , how can I play music when provider goes down. Vinyl or 8 track? Who remembers the Elcaset? FWIW, I have AT&T gigabit fiber. So far, about 5 years, it has been remarkably reliable.
I am streaming , how can I play music when provider goes down. I stream Amazon Ultra HD. Music I like I download to my LG V40 phone that's used strictly as a player. I use it I walk or can stream to my system through BT AptX or wired. No internet required. This is a great way to explore music because you can ...
For those who always dreamed of owning a Nakamichi secretguy: If you're old enough to remember, the Nakamichi Dragon tape deck was a lot of pre digital era audiophiles dream.
For those who always dreamed of owning a Nakamichi It is a shame. If you search some of the formerly great names in electronics, 😿.Kenwood for one, even Bose.
Yamaha M80 Amp I’m located in the St Louis metro area. Used to be a shop called Alpha tec that was an authorized Yamaha repair shop. He knew the old stuff and brought my CR2020 back to life. Unfortunately, he closed down several years ago. i only know of two ot...
KEF R3 Meta's - too much for my Marantz Model 30? I have the R3 Metas. They performed well with a Yamaha 80wpc receiver. I now power them with an Emotiva A2 amp (160/250 wpc). The Model 30 falls well into the upper range of KEF's recommended power requirements.
SoundsClassic, Rockford, Illinois Ha! I’m a ‘48 model.
The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation" Just to add my two cents, since it came up. I have an original Discwasher system. Brush, stylus brush and mirror, Zerostat gun and tester bulb. All in a very nice walnut holder. I lived in central Missouri at the time Discwasher came on the mark... |
