Breuer Type 8C MkII Info Needed
Les Wong told me that the Brinkmann (something he also imported) was a better made version of the Breuer due to the counterweight and better manufacture. If you can find Les Wong, I also think think Peter at KJ West One in London also knows a lot ...

Contact brinkmann - their 10.5 arm is based on it - sumiko made the mdc 800 - also based on it. Both are pretty helpful.I know from Les who ran walrus systems that they work very well with EMT cartridges
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
If this is the question then what is the answer
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
@halcro and @chakster we are living dangerously - but lifes boring if we aren't.All said and done. I got my QL10 back - and it was worked on by wilkinsons - re-cap and re-solder dry jointsSpeed was perfect - plenty of torque - super fast start up....
Two Turntables? Why
I guess its the human need t compare, contrast, fiddle - collate. I don't buy that one sound is absolute and perfect - high end cartridges are a prime example - some are warm - some are cooler. Certain decks I guess are better for different music ...
Two Turntables? Why
@luisma DJ'ing got me into vinyl in the 90's. It's what kept up vinyl sales in the UK in the 90's.That aside I will say that I agree with @mikelavigne  - although I do it on a far smaller scale.Besides people buy watches, shoes, cars, houses. Are ...
Is there a Solid State amp that can satisfy a SET guy?
I know a lot of people speak highly of the dartzeel - but i've never liked them - too much of a golden sheen. I heard them back to back against Lavardin at the UKs' original importer and wasn't blown away.I've not heard constellation in my own sys...
Is there a Solid State amp that can satisfy a SET guy?
I have heard Leemas quite a few times and they are. not harsh or cold - but they are very solid state. What are your speakers? the designer must know what he is talking about - they usually do.I use a Lavardin IT and that truly sounds like a valve ...

@chakster in fairness they are fairly intricate...Out of interest do you use the JVC mat or another mat on the TT101? I have a SONY TTS 8000 but it does not have the OL2K mat and would love a modern alternative for that mat too

@daveyf charlatan lawyers -there are a lot of unregulated people who cal themselves legal experts that give advice. Members of the public think they are getting a solicitor which would afford standards and protection. Instead they get idiots who b...

How much will you pay for an exotic cartridge....
As the world of high end audio shrinks - so do the dealers that can demo a product. I don't mind uplift when there is good product support and advice - along with demos. Theres a lot of risk in audio these days and at the top end i guess businesse...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Dear @chakster I've seen you mention the AT 616 legs before. My problem with them is that the cheapest set i have seen is about £250.00. I do not have a problem affording that but there are modern options by Townshend that are worth exploring. Like...
