PSB Synchrony Owners - What Amp Are you using I am using a Musical Fidelity M3 Nuvista integrated that uses tubes. It puts out 275 watts into 8 ohms, 550 into 4 ohms which is what the Synchrony Ones really are. They definitly respond to power.
"blown speakers" the crossover is not viewable or easily accessible. I will be taking it in to a dealer today to see if they have the tools to open it up. I cant imagine it would be a fuse that would not be accessible to the user. there is no sound at all from any...
"blown speakers" Timlub,I suspect, after further investigation, that it is a problem with the crossover, as the mid and tweeter work fine, and no sound out of the 3 woofers on that speaker. I doubt that all three woofers would suffer mechanical damage and the same...
B&W 802 S3 or PSB Platinum T6 Mastering Engineer the 802s are a little hot on the top compared to the PSB, so take that into account.
"blown speakers" Is there a way to test the speaker to see if there is a problem. The reason I ask is that in one of my speakers, when playing very loud, I heard a sudden rasping sound. When I reduced the volume, it sounded ok. It can still play quite loud without ...
what is the best sounding speakers for under 5000. I was going through the same thought process as you recently. I just got a set of PSB Synchrony Ones. I still have my Stratus Golds. The Ones are similar but better overall, from bass to treble. They are just more open, smoother in the treble and ...
Best Small Floorstander for Rock Music -Magico/B&W I compared my PSB Synchrony Ones to B&W 802s and found the PSB to sound very similar, with smoother highs and better articulation in the bass. The midrange was similar enough that I couldnt decide which was better. they are not that large, and...
Magico Q7 . . . wow The most recent Absolute Sound had the same opinion of the Magicos on the first 2 days. With almost every reviewer too. Seems they were using some secret amplifier. On the third day they changed amps, and the sound improved considerably, befitting...
Comparison of Musical Fidelity CD players Has anyone made a comparison of the Pre24 to the 3d? Do the tubes make an appreciable difference?
Sota Sapphire Series III replacement power supply I have built power supplies for Sotas using a 24v regulated power supply. 1 amp is plenty. there are lots of these for sale on ebay. Some even come with meters and variable output. Simple.Or really, any wall wart 24vdc power supply will work if it...
Oracle Alexandria + Premier MMT = ????? I am speaking of Sotas with the metal control cover and black top.My alexandria has a titanium colored top and rosewood trim on the sides.
Ultimate Cables no more? I hadnt gotten responses to email and the web site was down, so I put in a paypal claim. I finally got an email today saying the cables would be shipped out this week. 3 weeks since my order and payment. If the web site wasnt out I would have felt...
Oracle Alexandria + Premier MMT = ????? I would put up an Alexandria against a Sota Sapphire of the same vintage anyday, and I have owned both. The older, metal control cover units had some issues with speed control and sagging suspension. Against the newer wood top units it would still...
Building An Acrylic Turntable TpreavesWhat is PTP? Is there an advantage to using slate over a slab of solid Delrin of the same thickness. The Delrin is expensive, but easier to machine.
preamp out instead of MC transformer Ok, in my scenario, there is a line preamp and a MM phono preamp, 2 seperate preamps. In the old days, signal processors where used by hooking a loop into the line preamp. However, now that you mention it, I dont remember if it was from the preamp... |
