Notable very small loudspeaker companies (other than Tekton!) +2 Joseph Audio. The genius is in the implementation.
JA Perspecitve Stereophile review The front end electronics will have a big impact. Is it the speakers or the electronics? I can say this about the Pulsars and the Perspectives. They satisfy my ultimate test. They rise to the level of the front-end electronics. A friend is using ...
JA Perspecitve Stereophile review @prof I am not criticizing the Thiel 3.7s, but they have an aluminum-dome tweeter. I always thought the top end was too hot. My exposure was limited to hearing them at RMAF. So you think the Perspectives are a bit dark, and I think anything with ...
JA Perspecitve Stereophile review I have owned the Perspectives for over two years now and have read this review several times. At first blush, it seems critical, but actually it describes these speakers. Their strength is their unforgiving accuracy. Paired with the right electron...

New Speakers ... Can't Stop "Listening" Back on topic, I find the Joseph Audio speakers completely engaging. I have owned quite a few speakers, and these are keepers.
New Speakers ... Can't Stop "Listening" I have owned the Pulsars and now have a pair of Perspectives. Wonderful speakers. As far as kits go, you do not understand cost accounting and, without a direct comparison, have no idea as to whether they sound as good as the JAs. Good luck if yo...
Incoming ... Joseph Audio Pulsars Yes. BTW, while I agree with you, generally speakering, some speakers are more sensitive to their source than others. The JAs are on the far right side of this bell curve.
Incoming ... Joseph Audio Pulsars @prof The Pulsars and Perspectives sound good with less expensive electronics, but beware of the upgrade junkie effect of speakers that sound better and better with more expensive electronics.
Incoming ... Joseph Audio Pulsars Excellent question -- Pulsars with subs v. Perspectives -- and I have done both. The third option is Perspectives with subs. Using the Pulsars with a set of subwoofers, if they can be integrated, works well. I used a DEQX to integrate them.I wa...
Fake XLO cables from China There is a high probability that any name-brand cable purchased from Hong Kong or the PRC is counterfeit.
Ethernet Cables, do they make a difference? Yes, they make a difference, but not because “bits is bits”. The last meter, I have been told, improves EMI rejection. Regardless of the science, I hear a difference.
How old are your speakers I have a vintage system; stereo I sold as a teenager. You know, Marantz 2230, empire turntable with Stanton cartridge, and JBL L100s and ESS AMT 1As. Lamp cord for speaker wires. The speakers have to be circa 1972.
Incoming ... Joseph Audio Pulsars @prof Pulsar vs Perspective. Above 100 Hz they sound very similar. The Perspectives have better, and lower bass. I compared them back to back on PS Audio’s best electronics. The bass foundation makes a significant difference. |
