Tube Integrated Amp - Help Please Yes, Jolida MD is the real deal. I own the Jolida Fusion pre. Have yet to get the MD mods, however looking forward to doing so.
Dedicated Line Advise Cleeds, I agree it is not necessary. However my Square D service panel in the home I built has the input posts exposed such that it would be possible to contact one when swapping around several breakers. Now, i don’t know what it would cost to rem...
Dedicated Line Advise I bought a home for my kids to live in while going to college. Built in 1923, it had a new box installed, actually 2 boxes. One outside box that carried a mains breaker which fed a interior box for the home. Never seen this before. If wanting to w...
In a lot of these threads people say without the room being treated I have a small (~12 x 15 ft.) dedicated audio room. I also made my own treatments. Treat corners, 1st reflections and behind listening position. I agree that it is easy to over treat, however my approach was to over treat then back off as a way to...
Any suggestion on DAC below $1,500 I believe the Bryston BDA-1 to be an excellent choice in the <$1000 price range used. Many inputs, balanced/unbalanced outs. For USB use a USB/SPDIF converter. Many BDA-1s and converters for sale on AG.
Schitt Bifrost VS PS Audio Digital Link 3 I like Willies’ suggestion. The V-Link would also make an improvement over the PS DL3s’ USB interface. I have not heard the Schiit and could not have made his comparison. I have a V-link II USB/SPDIF converter which I use in a 2nd system. It is on...
Schitt Bifrost VS PS Audio Digital Link 3 The weak link (no pun) on the DL III is the usb input, it is not asynchronus. I believe this is why so many are for sale. It is however a very good DAC, having a robust power supply and analog output stage. I have owned one and used it with a USB...
Need small size speakers for fireplace. Joejoe, as 213runnin mentioned, given my placement constraint, I will likely be diminishing the sonic value of any speaker I choose. This I new going in. Further consideration of this has driven my decision to reduce my budget to those speakers th...
Do i need a CD player, or can I use Mc Book? I do both, spin disks and rip onto Mac. Search the forums, several threads concerning all your questions. Many benefits to having CDs ripped to computer. One is that your music can be taken with you.
When I have seen people listing their systems lately I buy, almost exclusively, CDs. Rip them to computer and often spin them in a player. I like owning physical media. Never purchased a download.
Preamp recommendation with odyssey stratos and vandersteen 2c's? Or, other possibilities? Try the variable out and listen. If you like that route you might consider an upgrade to a better player and look to purchase one with access to its' DAC and then you can also stream.
What's up with the ridiculous offers?!? On a related issue: When selling, I am now thinking of using the ‘make offer only’ approach. I am concerned that the ‘buy now’ option removes the option the seller has to refuse to sell to certain buyers, like those with no feedback and what you t...
Need small size speakers for fireplace. Thanks everyone! I have decided that I will reduce my budget to those speakers that can be had used for < $400. Given the placement constraint and supporting system that budget seems reasonable. My list now includes:Audioenjine P4Dali Zensor 1M...
Toslink/optical cable recommendations Ghost, yes it would seem that a 2” radius would make this cable be quite accommodating for most setups.
Need small size speakers for fireplace. I checked out Role, I will keep an eye on the used market for the small monitors. Thanks! |
