The finest Cable Elevators you ever auditioned? Update: I have given up all attempts to hang my cables from the ceiling. My model planes are all but in ruin ... lesson learned.
The finest Cable Elevators you ever auditioned? Wolf, that was me and I tried all manner of string including dental floss (which gave brass instruments too much bite) and it was a cheapskate solution that just does not work. You have to learn to open your mind and open your wallet to be enlight...
I've narrowed it down... Rfogel8, you have me laughing. Not for the faint hearted.
The finest Cable Elevators you ever auditioned? What about us purist who cant even accept tone controls. I cannot argue with fine tuning cable height using the Otis initially, but once you have established your average optimum cable height, surely you move to a fixed design at that height. I al...
The finest Cable Elevators you ever auditioned? BTW-- I also tried to get my friends to join me in extensive double blind cable auditioning. All I can say is you find out who your real friends are, and I was deeply offended. Enough said.
The finest Cable Elevators you ever auditioned? Elevating cables higher to improve those highs...... it is so perfectly logical and yet I missed it! Unfortunately my ceiling is only 10ft high. I know this will sound out there to those stuck in their sad little paradigms, but I am going to glue ...
Focal Alto Utopias Width and Depth of Sound Stage Try moving them further towards you (away from the wall) by about 0.5m. Maintain the width, or slightly narrower, but point them slightly inwards so there meet at a point maybe 3m behind the listening position. I think your depth (forward and back...
Esoteric UX 3 Universal Player Tried it in my system and found it to be very good. I felt it had excellent detail (in keeping with the brand), great soundstage and very clean deep and detailed bass. It was musically engaging and had just enough warmth for my taste. I think it i...
Best recorded rock song ? Lots of INXS songs come to mind. Try 'Mystify'.
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550 Kiwi, I would not agree with 'clinical and lean'. In fact I would say it has a slight warmth once run in, but agree it is leaner than the Gryphon. A question of taste. I would not match it with very lean sounding standmounts for eg. I compared ext...
Focal Utopia 3 Scala speakers Wonderful speaker. One of the best you can buy in that price bracket from everything I heard, and I heard a lot. I would say it works best in a small or medium room so it is possible some might be looking for the next model up for increased bottom...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ? Pani, how long did it take you to audition 70 speakers? That is a lot of speakers!
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ? Peter_s,The Gamut mono blocks are outstanding, and would have been a big factor. Lots of micro and macro detail, tremendous dynamics and wonderful treble extension.
beethoven piano concerto I have the Kovacevich version, and while the performance is truly great and it is a very good recording, it still sounds a little bit like its age. I am also looking for a newer version at that level of performance or better, but that is audiophil...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ? I think it will be hard to beat the Focal Diablo with your preferences. Make sure you can live with their detail and energy over the long term. Some might consider them on the edge of being too exposing. Not me. |
