Looking for a CD Player For those with working memories, it was not that long ago that I and others noted that we’re not that into streaming, don’t think it’s as good as CDs, artists not properly compensated, etc. and got lambasted for "butting in" on an "open conversati...
Do speakers need to be re-broken in? How do you separate your perception from your expectations? So if expect there not to be an improvement from break in, then you won't hear it. Got it. All the best, Nonoise
More potential bad news for some big names... bruce +1 That was very refreshing and most appreciated. (not to mention, succinct) All the best, Nonoise
Looking for a CD Player If all you want is to play CDs, this new CDP from Exposure might work for you. It uses old, 1990s tech with a CD only Sony transport and Burr-Brown PCM1704 multibit DACs and is a top loader, at just $3000. Here's a review of it and here's a vid...
More potential bad news for some big names... Andrew Robinson (hate him if you want to) recently reviewed Marantz's new line of speakers and streaming integrateds for the Gen Z crowd (see other contentious thread on that) and pointed out the poor and light weight build quality of it. Bose buys McIntosh Shareholders behind Bose are no different than shareholders behind other companies. They want quick returns on their investments. Does anyone here really think they're into high end like we are? They'll keep the image, promote the myth and cut c...
Bose buys McIntosh Bose is into cost cutting, especially after acquiring some new product lines from other companies. They make products for the masses. Do the math. All the best, Nonoise
Do speakers need to be re-broken in? Although previously broken in, they've sat around for 5 years. Being mechanical, they have to loosen up a bit but not as much as from brand new. You're hearing what you're hearing. All the best, Nonoise
why is it such a PIA to post a bloody photo here ? this platform is cranky as hell ! To ascertain if your photo is hosted online, right click on it and "copy image address" has to be one of the options. It's the only option to choose so don't copy and paste as A'gon is not set up for that. It's not like clicking and dragging some ...
why is it such a PIA to post a bloody photo here ? this platform is cranky as hell ! You shouldn’t have to host your photos online to post them. Welcome to 2000. Oh brother. All the best, Nonoise
why is it such a PIA to post a bloody photo here ? this platform is cranky as hell ! If you photo is distorted, before posting it, click on the width box and bring the horizontal value down to around 500 or so and the rest of the image will properly resize without fiddling with the rest of the values. A good photo sharing place ...
why is it such a PIA to post a bloody photo here ? this platform is cranky as hell ! I tried copy & paste and it works fine up to 'preview' but doesn't work when posting. You still need a URL address from some place that can store your photos so you can copy the image address. All the best, Nonoise
55” or 65” TV Screen Size and Your Speakers: Please Join Survey I've had my 55" LG OLED for about 6 years, if not longer, and sit a little more than 8' back and would jump at a 65" TV in a heartbeat. Like others have said, you'll adjust to it and appreciate it in no time. Don't overthink it. All the best, No...
