Paypal Changes for 2022 We need an "Amplified Politics" or "Political Speakers" or "Vintage Views" forum/Topic out here. All political commentary would have to go into that forum, and violators would be suspended for a week. There's no reason for so many of these threads...
Doesnt resistance mean same as impedance?? Troll.
Do we really know what "Live" music sounds like? Of course! If the article weren't so silly, it would be hopelessly pretentious. Jimi Hendrix at Monterey Pop isn't real music? The Philip Glass ensemble doesn't play real music? And Taylor Swift and MF DOOM and Bob Dylan (rumors are that he went e...
Introspective of this forum: "Does the Audiophile Community Have a Promlem?" I Say yes!!! @kahlenz, the fierce debate is not over which city has the best pizza. Even New Yorkers and Chicagoans, if they're being honest, agree it's New Haven. The debate is about which ("apizza") place makes the best pie. For the record, I've had most o...
Introspective of this forum: "Does the Audiophile Community Have a Promlem?" I Say yes!!! "It’s worth drawing a distinction between "rude a-hole" and "extremely opinionated old hifi guy." Exactly right and well said, @td_dayton!
What's All The Fuss And Big Deal About Roon About Roon Being A Must-Have?? You’ll probably get a number of responses, but no matter what anyone says here, pro or con, no matter how much research you do and no matter what people tell you, the only way to answer your question is by trying it for yourself. (They do a free t...
The Audiophile Community Has a Problem: Part Deux The Saga Continues? As a relative newbie out here, I appreciate the tribal elders' concerns about civility. I can't see that these threads do any harm and they may even remind people that, if we want, this can be a friendly place where we discuss music, gear, and aud...
Why recordings made before 1965 sound better. SO interesting. I'm reminded of that fine Muscle Shoals documentary, though I think that Muscle Shoals was probably post-1965. I'm not sure if it's realistic to try to recreate that early sound, pre-Dolby and pre-multitrack and pre SS, though I b...
Many CDs, no CD player (a question about ripping CDs) Thanks, all!
Many CDs, no CD player (a question about ripping CDs) Outstanding. Thanks to all of you. This is *exactly* what I was asking about. Much appreciated.
Many CDs, no CD player (a question about ripping CDs) Thanks, dinosore. That's exactly what I was wondering about. I appreciate that you took the time to respond.
Many CDs, no CD player (a question about ripping CDs) Thanks. I've often heard people say that CDs sound better than streaming--so my question is really about whether a digital file (ripped from a CD) will also sound better. I've ripped CDs with dBpoweramp and I can get off my butt and do some compar...
a remarkably basic question about Roon Thanks for asking. I haven't joined the fray here simply because I know so comparatively little about streaming technologies and equipment. That said, I've had Roon for about a week and I love it! I admit, though, that I may be like a man who has n...
a remarkably basic question about Roon Enough, please. Yours truly, The OP
Internet radio stations for classical music I'm going to bump this in the hope that there will be a few more suggestions. Although, like many, I often lean toward baroque/classical/chamber, I do enjoy early music and many pockets of 20th and 21st century classical (or "classical"). |
