Is the PS Audio PerfectWave P10 Power Plant worth it?
Thanks for the info guys, I agree the P10 is expensive new, I saw a few used ones selling in the $2k range.  I'm also considering the P5 as well.  I recently bought a new DAC, so I'm completely out of funds. Will probably get something next year. ...
Just retired and want to get back to vinyl listening
@steventoney, If you like the retro look of the Luxman.  Not sure if a tube amp is an option, but you should definitely also consider the Leben CS600 integrated.  It's made in Japan and they sound wonderful. I believe the amp designer is an ex Lux...
Gryphon Diablo 300: at the top of Integrated Amps?
@inna, hmm...maybe we got off the wrong foot. Can you tell me what this discussion is about? Honestly, I wasn’t paying attention to your thread. The OP asked about top integrated amps other than Gryphon Diablo 300, so I suggested an excellent inte...
Gryphon Diablo 300: at the top of Integrated Amps?
I like my Ayre AX-5 Twenty a lot.  You should put it on your list to check out.
Need suggestions please! Electrical noise in my system and it's driving me crazy!
Have you tried using a pure sinewave power source like an apc type battery backup or the PS Audio Powerplant? Not cheap, but it will most likely solve your hum problem.  Fixing the power coming into your house will not be easy.
Denafrips Terminator R2R Multibit, ultimate pcm redbook converter??
Guy, great story. Unlike you, I just when right to the top and bought the Terminator blindly.  I read a bunch of reviews on the Ares which got me thinking but the hardware design is what sold me. No wires and the use of high end components.  If th...
KT150's in Rogue Cronus Magnum ii
When I had my CM2, Rogue told me the same thing, not to upgrade to KT150.
Opinion - Every audiophile should build at least 1 pair of speakers
I couldn't agree more....I've been eyeing that SEAS Bifrost kit for a while now.  I also like the Fostex Folded Horn kit.  I need more space in my house. :)
A vote for the little guy suppliers
What would you consider little?  Would you consider companies like Ayre, Rogue Audio,  Aesthetix...etc little?  All good guys.
Which would you pick between the two DAC.
I've been mostly an Ayre guy, all my electronics is Ayre and I've been using the Ayre Codex for the last 1 1/2 and it has been a great ride.  Unable to spend money for the Ayre QX5/20 and getting the itch for something new, I ended up buying a DAC...
Hegel vs Rogue
Courtney - I would check out a DAC made by a company called Denafrips - a newer Chinese company. They sell a few in your price range.  Unlike the Yggy - which uses a R2R chipset made for medical devices, Denafrips makes DACs that use a discrete R2...
Hegel vs Rogue
I also owned the CM2 and it was a nice sounding integrated amp. Good amp to tube roll. I found some good tubes to help the top and bottom but still not enough. I ended up going with an Ayre AX-5/Twenty.  Different price level = different league. B...
Hegel vs Rogue
+2 Hegel, Hegel makes solid amps.  I personally prefer a class AB over a class D hybrid.  The Rogue Cronus Magnum II would be a harder choice.
Music Serviers: Wyred 4 Sound MS-2 or Aurender N100H
The USB connection between your DAC and Aurender should be extremely clean. Does the iFi USB really help?
HD Music Stream Service
I think most audiophiles prefer using a standalone steamer than an app for windows or mac. No aurender support is a deal breaker for me. I hope they smarten up and release an API soon.
