Best way to integrate a sub into 2 channel system? No, It will not be the same load for the amp. But, it's better to load the amp than the preamp. The amp will see a higher impedance, if your using a tube amp then the higher the better(with the exception of a few, Music Reference and Decware just ...
Best way to integrate a sub into 2 channel system? Run a second speaker wire from your amp terminals to the high level inputs of the sub and stop there. Still run your speaker cables from your main amp to your main speakers and let them run full freq. In other words use the high level input on you...
playback, hard drive vs. transport/DAC If done right,You'll be blown away! The industry will never support hard disk play back. It takes sells from away from transports,DACs,and preamps. A good PC based playback will replace all these products and give you much better peformance and wi...
Does transport matter if using external DAC? I think with the evolution of hard disk drives being used as transports reinforces just how important a transport is. I think we have(Audiophiles, engineers, designers)have just began to realize how important the tranport is. With simple non-upsampl...
Merlin VSM-M and Bass That's a big room. I would take out the BAM and get a Rel sub. You'll never integrate a sub using the BAM. Of course, you can try it with and without BAM. My 2 cents!
Transports for Audio Note DACs? I would keep using the EMC-1. It is a great transport! If you have to sell your DAC or it needs servicing you'll still have your player!
Is a cable cooker worth it? Excactly Ozzy. Couldn't have said it better.

Lowthers - Please educate a village idiot... Trelja, You will not have a problem with high frq. rolloff with Lowthers or Fostex. The Fostex don't do low,low bass either, but in the midrange they seem to be more relaxed. Amp/speaker synergy will heavly play a factor in your decision. I use VB...
Is a cable cooker worth it? Cable cookers are very wothwhile. I have one but I'm a dealer. I let customers cook there cables for free. Cables will never burn-in as much as a cooker will do. Here's a good guide to how to use. New cable: cook 48 hrs. on the cooker then let the...
Lowthers - Please educate a village idiot... The Omegas are not a back loaded horn. They are just highly damped monitors. That's fine with most drivers but with Fostex or Lowther it don't work. Since I'm stating my humble opinion, from someone who has listened to both and currently owns both...
Lowthers - Please educate a village idiot... Go with a Fostex driver loaded horn such as Cain and Cain and you will be amazed! I am dealer and I do sell these, but I really don't want you to buy a pair from me. I'm sure you have a Cain & Cain dealer near you.
I need a female jazz vocalist. No Krall, No Norah Has Stacy Kent been mentioned? Great vocalist, and also Diane Shur.
Who's to blame for the Grain?? Ditch the CD changer for a good single disk player. That would be my first suggestion. Later on you can upgrade other pieces, but for now the player will help a lot.
Someone help me Sound Too Thin ????? It's not your amp, that's one great amp there. Look into changing cd players first, that should help a lot. |
