Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@stephenjfoster For some reason you seem to think there is an element of religion or faith involved in any of this while forgetting that science is based on observation and experience.  Now I agree with you that subjective experience should be vie...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@brunomarcs Thank you.  Finally a post that actually contains useful information.  I had missed that nugget of info buried in Furutech's marketing BS.  For anybody else interested in this the actual text is: "Furutech specifies α (Alpha) Nano-Au-...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@richardbrand I am not a physicist nor do I own speakers that only accept spades.  I'm certainly not going to argue that Furutech's marketing makes any sense.  In fact, I would agree that it sounds more like nonsense.  And if you read what I have ...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@gkelly The guy I borrowed these from showed me the invoice where he specified bananas at the amp end and spades at the speaker end.  He must be the one in a million.  And The Cable Company lets you specify terminations for each end of the cable a...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@richardbrand If you actually look at any website that lets you purchase these cables, instead of generalizing from other cables, you would see that you can specify whatever connector you want for either end.  They don't "come" configured a specif...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@quickjack1234 The moment you step up from lamp cord, assuming the impedance, resistance and capacitance of whatever other cable you are using is the same, that is the moment you have left the realm of whatever it is you think can be measured by "...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@roadcykler You got to love the cable deniers who think they are in possession of an ultimate truth and who can't be bothered to even listen for the differences that their high school physics courses can't explain. Enjoy your lamp cord and if you ...
Furutech Nanoflux speaker cables
@gkelly As far as I can tell there is no writing on the cables that could be interpreted that way. @roxy54 Thanks.  I suspect you are right but I would like certainty rather than probability LOL.
Accuphase class A amps - going up the food chain from an A-48 to an A-80 or A-300?
@soloaudio I have heard the Accuphase A-300s with Alexia Vs and they sounded excellent.  Very musical and smooth while being detailed but not analytical.  But it is a distinctive kind of sound.  I liked them a lot but I would strongly suggest you ...
Power cord
@brunomarcs I sure would like to know where you are seeing DPS 4.1 power cable for $100 a meter.  VH Audio lists them for $394/meter.
Upgrading my integrated amplifier for my Magnepan 1.7’s
I own the PeachTree GAN400 and have owned Magnepan 1.6, 1.7, 3.7 and 20.7's.  So I know a bit about what I'm talking about here. 1) The Peachtree is fine but not optimal.  It is an excellent amp, especially at the price point, but it is better su...
Holographic DAC With Air And Decay
It is a $1000 above your price point but I think it is worth the stretch.  I compared a slew of DACs this past year and the Holo May KTE was the clear winner.  Used price with a bit of bargaining ought to be right around $4k.  Huge stage with dept...
1200GR upgrade tonearm or table?
What phono stage are you using?  I have tried the Audiomods 6 on my SL1210GR and it is an upgrade from the stock arm but not earth shattering.  But my Allnic H3000 phono stage changed everything for the better.
Roon isn't stable and they edit their forum to hide it
@mike_in_nc I agree with you.  I've used Roon for 4 years with a cheap PC (NUC).  I've certainly had to restart it more than once or twice but I've never had any serious issues or problems that weren't resolved with a simple restart.  Asserting th...
Best music in 2024
@simonmoon Thank you for your thoughtful posts here.  Lots of great, off the beaten track music to discover in your lists.
