New and engaging rap and hip hop artists
Thanks for bringing up Pharoahe Monch and Erykah Badu.  Both seem well worth listening to.  At 63 I love discovering new, innovative music.
SMSL SU-9 DAC - Is it a budget alternative fit for an audiophile ?
The SU-9 is amazing for the price.  I find it a little brittle sounding and prefer the Ares II DAC but the SU-9 is more fully featured for 30% less money.  It is a solid recommendation for any audiophile unwilling to spend 2-3x more at a minimum.

millercarbon - First, I want to be clear, I said your system was extraordinary, which I think it is, but I never said I liked it.  I certainly don't aspire to replicate the sound that you have worked so hard to achieve.  I have no idea what leads ...

millercarbon - Hi Chuck.  Thanks for the recommendation for the Mobile Fidelity brush.  I had been overwhelmed by all the brush choices so I simply went ahead and bought one based on your recommendation.  I would say that I am more curious about r...

artemus - Thanks. Is that the Milty Zerostat 3 that you are recommending?  Lots of negative reviews for that on Amazon.

whart - Thanks for all that advice.  I'll browse through the London Jazz Collector site.  My musical tastes are quite varied and evolving.  I ignored jazz for most of my life but I'm finding myself enjoying some of the more contemporary experiment...

My experience with other equipment is people generally recommend what they own or what is expensive so not that helpful.  The Project or Rega tables were the other obvious choices but were a bit more expensive and I wanted the Ortofon 2M Blue cart...
Schumann Resonator
Are these things supposed to be placed flat so that the coil points up or on edge with the coils pointing towards what?
NOS Tubes - Agony or Ecstasy -Part II - The Search
You should give Jim at valvesnmore.com a try.  I bought some very interesting 6SN7's from him as well as my favorite Sylvania 6SN7GTA.  Smaller, boutique operation run by an honest guy.
In my comparison experiment, go Lore or Lore Reference, or something else, for the same $
listening99 If you have the Moabs then I think the Lores are going to be a little disappointing. I only heard them once and they were very detailed, nice soundstage, transparent, and quite impressive for a $1000 speaker.  They also sounded so smal...

Funny.  I bought a pair of Zu Omen Dirty Weekend speakers that should come in a week or so.  A friend of mine has Druids so I was curious about the sound.  I don't expect them to be keepers since I have both the Tekton Moabs and Magnepan 3.7's but...
Burning a hole in my pocket!
I'm not a big believer in tweaks but somebody recommended the ifi iPurifier3 to me and since it was only $129 on Amazon with free returns I bought it.  I hear a subtle, but  very real, improvement using it on both of my systems.  It makes no sense...
Is this how a Subwoofer Crossover is supposed to work?
Amazon had this: https://www.amazon.com/Oatey-33403-Plastic-Galvanized-4-Inch/dp/B000H5T1PI Cheap and it comes by Monday.  More stuff to play with LOL.
Is this how a Subwoofer Crossover is supposed to work?
erik_squires  How would you plug the speaker ports?  There are two of them, each about 4 1/4" in diameter.  The peak at 36 Hz is easy to tame with the parametric equalizer in Roon.  No real need for a miniDSP for that.  But the holes at 61, 77, an...
Is this how a Subwoofer Crossover is supposed to work?
kenjit "Why would anybody design an electronic lowpass filter with a variable slope and a fixed crossover point? Thats useless. What you want is a variable crossover point and fixed slope." That is what I thought also and that is what started this...
