McIntosh purchased by Bose...NOT an April Fool's joke.
Where’s all the customer service gonna be for all the MAC owners? I guess they’re gonna contact Bose now?
30 yr old speakers- time to replace drivers?
Thx for all the input. As of right now, I think I’ll go on the one thought, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. They still sound pretty good. Besides, they’re only used as my surround speakers at this point, so thanks everyone. Down the road if neces...
Non-Audiophile Audiophile question!
Maybe if u have the space, on wall planars
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
If so u may need an area rug for sound absorption. Too much reflection in a room will sound bright, glass, cement, any hard surface. Even going from leather furniture to fabric makes difference in sound.
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
In ur pic, is that a cement floor for your listening area?
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
yyzsantabarbra hit the nail on the head with getting Maggie’s off the floor with the magneriisers and their supplied jumpers. Vast improvement. They tune the risers for each speaker. Audiofilo123: Your right that the belles does get hot, but I hav...
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
The new crossover in magnepan… any way to generate profit. For me, I’m staying stock until the next upgrade bug.
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
Yea I tried the resistors once, sounded like my ears were clogged
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
Also the other alternative which is crazy stupid expensive, is to have magnepan upgrade the whole crossover to the new x version. But like I said it’s like 2 grand for that
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which?
I’m using a belles integrated amp, which makes the Maggie’s very crisp, and using audio quest type 9 but with dbs battery pack. The cable without the battery pack believe it or not made the speakers a little bit too sharp. The dbs smoothed it out....

You know, Maggie’s are hard to set up, I have the 1.7s. What cables are you using? Also amplification makes a difference too. There are warmer amps and better sounding cables, even though that is a heavily debated topic. What are you using for amps?
Any audiophile use computer (MacBook) as your audio streaming source?
I used to use a Mac for streaming. However your limited not only with sound quality, but digitally. I think the most I got out of my Mac was 96khz 24bit. Dedicated streamer/dac will go 256, 512 and dsd files. So soix has it right.
Help needed with new integrated amp.
The Belles is very crisp and detailed amp. The virtuoso is 400 watts into 4 ohms and 32 amps peak power. The speakers come alive at around 9:00 position. Great sound stage like you say. But try the different positions of the tweeters like I said. ...
Help needed with new integrated amp.
Where are your tweeter’s placed, inside or outside? I have 1.7s and always found the tweeters are better on the inside and toe in a lot 32” on one side and 42” on the other side of speaker. Also I use a Belles integrated which has a lot of current...
