Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? Also the other alternative which is crazy stupid expensive, is to have magnepan upgrade the whole crossover to the new x version. But like I said it’s like 2 grand for that
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? I’m using a belles integrated amp, which makes the Maggie’s very crisp, and using audio quest type 9 but with dbs battery pack. The cable without the battery pack believe it or not made the speakers a little bit too sharp. The dbs smoothed it out....
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? You know, Maggie’s are hard to set up, I have the 1.7s. What cables are you using? Also amplification makes a difference too. There are warmer amps and better sounding cables, even though that is a heavily debated topic. What are you using for amps?
Any audiophile use computer (MacBook) as your audio streaming source? I used to use a Mac for streaming. However your limited not only with sound quality, but digitally. I think the most I got out of my Mac was 96khz 24bit. Dedicated streamer/dac will go 256, 512 and dsd files. So soix has it right.
Help needed with new integrated amp. The Belles is very crisp and detailed amp. The virtuoso is 400 watts into 4 ohms and 32 amps peak power. The speakers come alive at around 9:00 position. Great sound stage like you say. But try the different positions of the tweeters like I said. ...
Help needed with new integrated amp. Where are your tweeter’s placed, inside or outside? I have 1.7s and always found the tweeters are better on the inside and toe in a lot 32” on one side and 42” on the other side of speaker. Also I use a Belles integrated which has a lot of current...

I Sold my CD Player!!! Streaming sounds so incredible!!! It’s always nice to run old cds on my dvd player out through a good co-ax cable into the dac on my streamer. The cds will sound better through a good quality dac. But the OP is right, 16 bit compared to 24 bit, there is no going backwards
Help me build out my first system Hey @Soix, in 2022 you had a post about the McCormick amp input board failing. Do you think this would affect the one he’s getting? Regards
Find the Problem I have a technics tt as well, started out with a Pickering cartridge which had the harshness you were talking about. Then I went to the ortofon blue which made a huge difference, but what when I really noticed a difference was switching the headsh...
Mood I agree with noromance…. 110v clean power. Sometimes power can be less of a demand on power companies in the mornings. During the day the power can get more loads. Early in the morning, I found music sounds much better as well. During the day som...
Small amp or all in 1 choice? Maybe look into schitt audio? They have small components not too expensive that u can put together into something that works for you.
Audio Racks, Just How beneficial? looking for guidance in upgrading I used to have BDI but saw the problem with glass. Went shopping, saw a lot of flimsy racks for a lot of money too! So I made my own, went with butcher block and threaded rod. On the base of threaded rod, have heavy duty casters. As for sound in b...
Sharing a subwoofer between a Stereo and HT combination. I’m in the same boat as you, and right now I’m running an integrated amp with ht bypass 2 ch and ht/w sub config. I’ve tried line level for the sub on the integrated, but then the ht wasn’t right. So when I wanna run the sub, I’ll listen through t... |
