Wow, many great ones posted above - I'll go with King Crimson Epitath, prescient for 1967 .. knowledge is a deadly friend when no one sets the rules The wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams Upon the instruments of death The ...
What Meatloaf and Beer Have Taught me about Audiophiles Full disclosure- I'm a beer nut. Certain beers are appropriate for special times and different seasons. I don't drink a dessert stout on the beach in summer but in winter in front of a fireplace, yum. Also usually only drink heaver stouts late i...
What Meatloaf and Beer Have Taught me about Audiophiles I have a mild form of tourettes syndrome- way back in my 20s went to a friend's apt for dinner, his wife was a newbie to cooking. She brings out a too liquidity meatloaf that had flattened out and misshapen. I said "it looks like an elephant tur...

Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too? So refreshing to see I'm not the only one to find Bruce intolerable. Bad voice, shitty band and the subject of his songs lame. But he seems to be a nice enough guy. From born in the USA- only a strapper would write " I'm a cool rocking daddy from...
The Sacred Ritual of Vinyl: A Return to Mindful Listening Deep thoughts you miraculously put to words this common experience for the vinyl music congregation . I can only add the reconnecting with ancient memories when listening to something like Hendrix which was a regular spin 55 years ago. Like a tim...

Most recent concert Carl Palmers "Legacy" they project a bunch of ELP concert footage on the screens and have some of the Greg Lake vocals played over the PA while the band plays the instrumental part. Very fun and Palmer still has his chops at 73.

The best opening act you've ever seen & heard? 1972 Irvine Auditorium on Penns campus - Little Feat (with Lowell George) opened for Captain Beefheart. Somebodys bassist was MIA so either Little Feats bassist played with Beefheart or vice versa.

The best opening act you've ever seen & heard? @larsman - yes indeedy, they were working out the material that would become Dark Side and handed out a pamplet call Eclipse 'a piece for assorted lunatics' which was their working title for dark side. Of course my pamplet fell by the wayside. Fa...

Hegel hum? My solution to the nest of wires (I have the Hegel H20 amp) is to seperate all interconnects and speaker wires from AC cables. I put that black foam pipe insulator with the slit in the middle (cut into several pieces) to seperate all the low powe...
