What turntable and TONEARM brands sound best with the Denon DL103 and DL 103R? MC's
@sunnyjim The 750 is supposed to be better but I can't say how much better.  The 750 has a reservoir for damping fluid, the 250 does not.  The 250 is more suitable for high compliance carts than the 750.There are TT manufacturers that will sell yo...
My first tube roll in a Primaluna Dialogue HP Integrated
Jbhiller, if those sylvanias turn out to be usable, please let me know your opinion and comparison to the Amperex ones.

With that room size and with your entertainment center, you might look for controlled directivity speakers.  I can recommend JBL studio 580 or 590 in your price range.  Great sound at a fair price.

@jbhiller ,Those look like Sylvanias.  Those are pretty nice although not as warm as black plate Raytheon or RCA.

You are going to get a lot of recommendations for the expensive and rare tubes on Audiogon.  If you don't want to spend the big bucks, start with some American brands readily found on ebay.  I will let you in on a secret. The older Raytheon black ...
What turntable and TONEARM brands sound best with the Denon DL103 and DL 103R? MC's
Just get a turntable with a Jelco 750 9", 10" or 12" whatever you desire. This is absolutely the best value in audio these days.  Perfect match for low compliance MC carts.   If the Polytable is out of your budget, get a vintage DD for it.  I have...
Materials to reduce sidewall flex & vibration ?
Well, for one thing, stuff like Dynamat, norez, etc. would look ugly on the outside! Your aim should be to minimize the excitation of vibration of the speaker walls so the material you use would ideally be placed between the speaker wall and the s...
Feedback through turntable
My tonearm is only 32" away from my speaker but slightly behind the baffle. There is no issue with feedback at all.  Airborne seems unlikely from my experience.

Some strange replies posted here.  There is no harm in using a cover during play to see what the results will be, so why not experiment?  As for standing waves, resonance etc., it is all very dependent on that particular system of components and m...

If you have sound waves affecting playback, the cover should help (I doubt that though).  It should not be a hindrance  either way.
I've decided to try Tubes
@aberyclark, the Primaluna Prologue is decent although the bass is a bit too loose for my tastes.  I thought the autobias feature while convenient is a bit gimmicky.  I prefer manual biasing.  The newer Jolidas are nice, don't overlook them due to...

@miner42, you are not isolating anything with rigid materials like brass cones and spiked feet. Once you realize that most of that is useless BS, you can start to look at real isolation methods. Browse through some industrial catalogs and look at ...
Looking for recs for my first foray into MC cartridges...
@sbank, the Quintets are low compliance, weigh 9 grams and sound very good so they could be considered in this case.  I own a 103S, have used other 103 types in the past.  My opinion is that the Quintets are bit more refined than the 103.  This wa...

Ortofon Quintet Red or Blue.  Very nice and track at 2.3 grams nominal.
