Analog upgrade time
Huge topic:) I would think it through this way ( assuming P6 is staying ) Cart that is a good match to Rega arm > phono that is good match to cart / system gain. This means ( to me ) a relatively light weight MC, one that can be set to a dec...
SUT - electrical theory and practical experience
SUT's clearly can work. And an argument can be made against them.  For those designing 'minimalist' vacuum tube stages they are 'free gain' For others they are a bandwidth limiter. But this could be a good thing depending on your school of thoug...
Cartridges
For *me*, based on your post, I would definitely drop the cart high bar to where I mentioned and focus on building record collection up. My 2c

A few recommendations: From the lines I carry: Aidas Gala Gold ( 24kt windings ) $6200 as Fremer said does nothing wrong ... Tedeska DST201us Torres ( silver windings ) $6200    Or from lines I dont deal with:   Dynavector XV-1S Phasematio...

A New MC to Catch One's Attention

Turntable isolation
Got it. Could be the platform itself may be a point of experimentation before footers or other spacers. Some are using steel slabs or slate etc...
Turntable isolation
@nhmanmtb is your turntable a solid plinth or suspended design? Is the Timbernation rack going on a floating or slab floor?
Benz Micro Glider Stylus protection
@normb you managed to mount it without damage ( easier to do with an open body ) seems like you are in the clear :) I work with an open body cart line and damages strictly pertaining to the open body design are rare ime. Fingers can get close to ...
Cartridge burn-in
I bought an Aidas Rainbow 3 months ago from @solypsa which sounded great on day one but now sounds truly magical. It seems like it has really opened up recently. Glad the Aidas is continuing to satisfy :)
how were copies of vinyl made in "third-party" countries
The process may not be 'high tech' but it very much is tricky

What tapes is the question. And if far enough into 80s the next is did they use a digital delay to create the preview path. Your ears will probably tell you
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
@mijostyn  which with insurance would have to be covered by the shipper have you tried to get a parcel carrier to cover shipping damage? Not gonna happen ime. If the parcel goes missing maybe, otherwise...
