Considering a POSSIBLE replacement for speakers. Opinions?
Again, apologies for not listing all the components. A Cardinal Sin, I know. Also, I am located in the Dallas-Ft Worth area if that helps at all.
Considering a POSSIBLE replacement for speakers. Opinions?
Hi, and thank everyone for their responses so far. I should have set aside time to make a proper post rather than ask a simple question...because we all know there are no simple questions when it comes to audiophile questions, right?First, artemus...

Mesch, I started with the ST-140!  It was my "between system" after moving up from the NAD 7020 to what I have now..I bought the ST-140 and the Pro-5 pre-amp and the least expensive Magnepans I could get. I believe they were the SARA'S. This was r...
Well, user error isn't over just yet *sigh*
Fiesta, fortunately for me, there was no hum in mine until I goofed up. Once I saw what I did, it was fixed in 15 minutes. No more hum. Plus I got a deal on mine. The dealer needed to clear floor space so I got it for $400 instead of the usual $600.

Correct, the humming sound is gone but I can always look at subwoofers and other esoteric items. My REAL problem is trying to fix something 20 minutes after I get up instead of waiting until after lunch.LOLOL...I see there is no Klipsch love here. ...

@jasonbourne52.  Great! Not a complete idiot. That was what I originally thought but I wasn't 100% sure. And...thanks especially to the folks rooting for repairing the gear. B&K back then was something very special.
Bob Carver C-500 worth restoring and/or upgrading??
I agree with everyone else, Deltronics is the place to fix it back to spec. The only downside is there is a 9 to 12 week turnaround time so be prepared to wait.
Need help: turntable market in the $1500-$2000 range is overwhelming
I do not see Linn in your list. With your price range, it should be, I would think. That gets you the LP-12, a top tone arm and cartridge, if I'm not mistaken. Where vinyl comes in, I always ask myself what am I listening to with it? Led Zeppelin ...
Older vs. newer REL subs
I feel like I should contribute SOMETHING since so many people helped me with this decision back in 2015 when I had to replace an older, quality Klipsch sub. I dug around a bit and discovered that Bob Carver now made subwoofers. Audiogonites HEAVI...

Oh, I mentioned I have been out of this game for a very long time. So, I do see some subs in my price range by a company called SVS....but I've never heard of them before ( as I said, out of the game for a long time ). Can they be trusted or are t...

On a related note, my Sonata Pro-10 MC has a button on it labeled "Direct Bypass". On different amps that usually means it's cutting any bass or treble circuits out and sending the signal straight to the amplifier. But this pre-amp doesn't have an...

Ah, I thought I was actually being trolled. I didn't care over much because I was happy to have music again but it's nice to know nothing was meant by it. When I was younger, a lot younger, all I wanted was the best stereo I could ever afford. Lif...
User Error Disaster
I'd like to thank everyone for their interest and help with this. With the help of another user I was able to locate a documented, refurbished and tested ST-202 for a very reasonable price. I'm planning on plugging that in place until I can locate...
