New (used) pre-amp with phono The discontinued CJ PV9a has one the the best phono stages ever in a CJ one box unit. It sold for $3000 new, used I seen it between $800 to $1200. If you liked your PV-5, I think the model progression is PV-5, PV-8, PV-11. I have not heard the new...
VCR (remember these?) w/ a great picture Do you have the Toshiba that will record Super VHS on standard tapes?? A friend has the high end model ($600??) and swears by it. I have a couple old Panasonic machines from the mid-late 80s. Better quality than most stuff made today. One weighs a...
Why lots of B&W Nautilus for sale used? Thanks Subaruguru also: Your thread appeared when I posted the last below you. I have heard the same things you are saying from other sources.
Why lots of B&W Nautilus for sale used? My P5 do sound pretty good with the new Storm III Sub I must admitt. Maybe I should keep them for a while???
Why lots of B&W Nautilus for sale used? Thanks Bmpnyc: I just aquired the next step up REL Storm III Sub that are helping out my B&W P5s. Thought my next step would be some N804s. I've read from some readers on Audioreview that a great sub with the N804s comes pretty close to the N8...
Audiophile considering HT If used is OK, there are usually B&W ASW subs here and other classified sites, such as Audioshopper and Audioweb. If the seller shows the list price, you can get an idea of new with no discount. A both B&W and NAD dealer I can recommned is...
Why lots of B&W Nautilus for sale used? Thirdly, is the Nautilus 803, 804, 805 worth the 60% increase in price in your opinion? Or triple what a mint used pair of Matrix go for??
Why lots of B&W Nautilus for sale used? Additional: I guess the Nautilus tweeter is better, but the rest of the speaker I do not know. Build quality is the other question. The Cherry veneer on the Nautilus is attractive, but they still do not look as solid as the Matrix models to me. Th...
Audiophile considering HT We need a VideogoN website !! Ha !!!
Audiophile considering HT If B&W and not high dollar go with ASW 1000 or 2000 subs. (The 2000 better choice of the 2 since it does OK with music too). The ASW 500 is so so in my opinion, but OK if all you want is good explosions.
Audiophile considering HT The 302s would make fine rears also. Some people like to use the same basic model speakers, so they will voice the same. (Same tweeter). For typical Japanese stuff, Onkyo is good build quality for the price. An HT receiver is the best bank for the...
Din plug to RCA adaptor Then you can try it out and not break the bank on an expensive cable. (Assuming it fits). It is a 5 pin Din Plug.
Din plug to RCA adaptor If you cannot find a pair, I have an ordinary 1 meter set with a DIN (male) plug on one side and 4 RCA (male) plugs on the other. $10 ???
Any good bi-wire speaker cable (used).. For around $200 you can get a new pair of close out 1999 MIT Terminator 2 Bi-Wire at AudioAdvisor. Or check eBay for used.
Speaker Cable Length - Effect on Sound I also have 20 foot MITs. They claim their terminator box tweeking compensates for the length. They sound good to me, and a lot better than the 18 foot ones they replaced, so I assume it is true. |
