Now I See Star, cow, dog. The progression of money driven enterprises. Begin with something bright and shiny, maybe even innovative and exciting; milk it for all it's worth, beyond when it has actual cachet; and then peddle a never ending series of upgrades...
Blind squirrels and such-Ncore 400 Thanks one and all. You've collectively got me thinking I should get a lighted glass and upgraded parts-at least a power cable connector that has not ever been partially melted-and have another go at it. Then sit back and enjoy while they get bett...
Blind squirrels and such-Ncore 400 Helps to pay attention to speaker cable polarity. Once corrected, the image location locked in. I'm smiling.
Recent cd players w/ analog output/volume control I have a Theta Miles and a Resolution Audio both running directly to power.
Why does Amps/Preamps forum have most threads? Well no wonder my system sounds as it does. I'm missing the most important component all together. (Run CD with analog volume directly into whatever set of amps I'm in the mood for. Have never preferred the sound when a preamp was added)
Interconnect recommendations, please Grover Huffman. Interconnects compelled me to go all Huffman. Did for me what you are looking for in addition to presenting the music with a "wholeness" I'd never heard. Not too expensive. Wonderful guy to deal with.

Best "Giant Killer" Value Cables For... I second Ejlif's recommendation of Grover Huffman's cables. I have tried the cables you suggest along with some other higher priced offerings. It wasn't until I put his speaker cables and interconnects into my system that I appreciated a cable cou...
Short Run .5M Interconnect on a budget? I recently added Grover Huffman interconnects and speaker cable with revealing results. Planned a shoot out with anti-cable, nordost, signal, reality, blue jean. Never happened. The Huffman went in last and never came back out. So clearly superior...
Off the beaten track music you love Thanks everyone. I'll put each of them on my wish list and start hunting.
Audiophile blues... Blind Pig also has a couple double disc compilations although with varying quality it is overall satisfying.
Diversity of opinion over what Years ago, I asked the reviewers from a couple of the mags to publish full audiological reports. I swear a couple of those guys had high frequency loss. I used to have one done every few years. Now I'm old and don't need a test to know I can't hea...
Parents need clear sounding 2 ch HT More likely high frequency hearing loss if that's the issue. While voice occurs in midrange, the small cues that isolate and distinguish sound and forms subtle articulation cues occur at pretty high frequencies. Talk with any retired dentist about... |
