Fuses that matter.
Do you "re-fuse?" (my 32nd most cerebral pun of the decade). Follow the rubber line. Now I feel I have to take every piece of my gear apart and see if the wires are "direction appropriate"...would an electron microscope be useful in detecting the ...
Extremely well recorded jazz double bass? cymbals?
I have a decent semi-recent issue LP of "Waltz for Debbie" on frequent rotation around my place. It's a fave...amazing.

Extremely well recorded jazz double bass? cymbals?
I have a few Alan Broadbent things with Bromberg on bass...sort of "Jazz Comfort Food" as it is really easy to listen to, and great stuff. On "Round Midnight" the bass is recorded SO "in your face" hot that I have to turn my sub down for balance. ...

I remember when US made Fender guitars SUCKED...from the late 60's until the late 70's...you had to look at 10 Telecasters until you found one put together correctly. Now they're mostly fine, even when made in Mexico or wherever. I understand that...
What happened to Krell
Nelson Pass seems to be doing OK...and Dan D'Agostino seems to have realized the need for more $60,000 amps in the marketplace...bless his little heart. Both are US based.

Any factory in any country is capable of building things well with high part quality. The key is establishing quality control and avoiding slave labor issues by paying fair wages...Jolida apparently does that and others might also but you don't he...
Could use your advice re: tube gear
HA...yeah...there are some pretty serious "Underwood" mods on various Jolida items, which was one reason I went with Jerred's suggested mods which he's been doing forever, and right there at Jolida MD...at a very reasonable cost.

Here's my meaningless comment of the day: My mods cost less than my dinner last night. Including drinks.
Could use your advice re: tube gear
I got the Jolida because I was bored and curious, and I like the sound of it a lot. It holds up really well in comparison to the SS amps I've owned in the sense that it's quiet and has plenty of dynamic juice. I'm really liking the tube "warmth", ...
KT120 transformer failures
A rhetorical question I deem unanswerable. I am the "deemer".

The price paradox: Expensive gear adds to its own "excitement value" when you wait and buy it later (used) at a much cheaper price. It's also conversely true (for me anyway) that finding an inexpensive new thing that sounds amazing (good cheap DAC...
KT120 transformer failures
I wondered the same thing, but went with a standard factory matched quad without "cryo" treatment just to be cheaper...and now I'll never know! Supposedly the fact that you bias each tube individually makes it less important to have them so carefu...

Yeah...the mods from both Jolida (of course) and Underwood are warranty covered, as is my amp if the KT120s blow it up. Supposedly my Preludes (the latest model...there'e been a couple) are 91db, although I think that's generous. I use the 8ohm ta...
Configuration Questions
You can hear differences with everything, but I have to say when I've compared modern DACs to one another it gets really tough...maybe more so than with most other components.
