Musical Paradise MP-D2 MK3 DAC
I have the mk2 version. I’m under the impression it could be modded to mk3 status with a board swap, but honestly the performance is so good, I don’t feel the need. If my Mk2 died today, the Mk3 would be at the top of the list for replacement. Mod...
Does a Tube Dac make sense?
I own the MP-D2 mk2 with the AKM 4497 chip, Mundorf caps, and NOS Amperex tubes. No regrets here. The value in this DAC for someone in your position (unsure of tube components) is the ability to easily parts swap rather than whole component swap. T...
Tannoy cheviot vs Arden what should I expect from each?
@rbtstock , I'd be interested in hearing your impressions once you've had a chance to demo both.
Warning: China-Hifi-Audio.com
I recently purchased a tube integrated from this vendor. They were pretty clear about shipping delays at the time of purchase (within 2 days). The unit arrived at my door in less than a week from the ship date.Sorry to hear you didn't have a great...
Tannoy cheviot vs Arden what should I expect from each?
I've owned the Legacy Arden for a couple of years now. Don't let the frequency response specs fool you.I've always had a hard time obtaining realistic bass in my room and have had 6 pairs of speakers in there. The Ardens are the fist pair to bring...

What frustrates you the most about seller’s for sale ads?
Speaker ads with one or more driver dust caps or tweeters poked in by a toddler..."does not effect sound"."Rare". Rarity does not equal quality, and it means the piece will be difficult to find parts or repair for.Sales pitches presented as an opp...
Mcintosh MX-120 any opinions or advice?
I owned the mx-120 for several years when I was transitioning from a 5.1 system, down to 2.2. As a 2 channel preamp, it offers a ton of value for the money since 2 channel purists skip over it for stereo use and it lacks the 12 or 15 channels requ...
Klipsch Cornwall Equivalent?
From a dimension and aesthetic equivalent, take a look at the Tannoy Legacy Arden. Unfortunately, they retail higher than the Cornwall IV in their new guise. Perhaps look for one of the earlier models.

SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences...
I’ve owned a pair of SVS SB-12+ in the past and if I had a smaller room, I’d still own them. Great build quality, excellent, sealed box performance, and fantastic value.I now have a single REL 212SE and it too offers great performance... at a much...
JBL L65 vs Forte III vs Cornwall IV
@lg1, my listening space sounds very similar to yours. (Square footage, long wall placement, open concept at one end).I have space for large, wide, but not very deep speakers. Of those you list, the Cornwall IV would be my choice, but would urge y...
Seeking Rupert Neve Fidelice DAC experience
Thanks for your thoughts guys. After reading reviews on other forums it appears this unit is really built for the desktop/headphone user (within arms reach of the volume knob and rear mounted power switch) who need an all in one DAC/AMP/HEADPHONE ...
