Any success transferring Vinyls to computer? I have some experiance doing this. The easiest way to transfer your records would be to use a standalone CDR burner and connect it either to your phono preamp or your line stage. It is time consuming and you have to sit with it while its recording...
CJ Equipment - Speaker Recommendations Your 12's are very laid back. I think you need to keep that in mind when you are looking for a speaker. You could end up with too much of a good thing if you aren't careful. The first thing that comes to mind is Proac. They have a very musical but...
Possibly controversial: Totem arro overrated? If I'm reading your description of the problem correctly, it sounds like something in your system may be broken. "What I didn't really witness however, was the unbelievable imaging that everyone talks about, the image would waver from left to righ...

advise needed on amps... If there is no way you can do a demo, I would still suggest that you be cautious. With speakers that sensitive its very easy to have gain issues that result in a hum or some type of similar type of noise. I have a pair of Wilson's that I sometimes...

Speakers to consider around 5k used? jdoris,"Obviously, listening around is important -- and fun. But I think the confidence this should give one in a purchase is overrated -- unless one can audition in home with the kit you plan to use.For my last three serious speakers purchases, I...
Repair or Replace - Marantz CD63se Rar1,I didn't mean to come off in a negative way. The only point I was trying to make was that, done right, backing up your music files can drop your risk to almost 0. I have to admit, though, you did have some bad luck.Johnnyb,"The other part of ...
Has CD playback evolved in the last 5 years? I don't think 5 years is a good number to use. Aside from some small improvements, CD players have not seemed to progress much in sound quality using a 5 year time line. If you move out to 10 years, a much better case can be made.
Speakers to consider around 5k used? The lease expensive and most trouble free way for you to do this is to go out and listen to some speakers and then make a decision based on what you thought was best. If you choose a different path, the chance of making a mistake is very high. I w...
advise needed on amps... Given your speakers, I wouldn't buy anything without first listening to it. If that means you have to wait or take some extra steps to somehow get a demo, then I think thats what you need to do.
Repair or Replace - Marantz CD63se "Johnny ... And then what do you do when the hard drive crashes and dies? I am in the process of attempting to recover my data from an iMac hard drive that died after 6 years of use. The data had been backed up a little while ago to an Iomega hard...
Repair or Replace - Marantz CD63se Back when your CD player was current, it was an excellent value for the money. CD players have progressed since then. If it was my choice, I would go for a new unit. The transport in your player is still probably competitive but the dac section is...
Help needed finded some connectors Cardas should make something that will work well for you. Kimber/WBT, as well. Call the Cable Company. If anyone has what you need, they will. The hard part is actually doing the termination. I've done it myself but it took a while. |
