@mesch - taking your current speaker specs and adding 3db “just for good measure “ is a convoluted way to go about this. Usually, one can get a sense of a speaker’s power requirement is by analyzing the phase/impedance vs frequency plot (impedance variations, phase angles) and the sensitivity. It would be much easier for us to help you if we knew the make+model of your amp so we can get a much better idea of what it can drive. Another strategy is to look for reviews of your amp to see what speakers they are using. As speaker synergy is important it might lead you to ideal amp/speaker combos. |
