Acoustical Systems MM Fideles?
Anyone hear the relatively new AS Fideles? Particularly you hardcore MM lovers?

It is an outstanding MI cartridge with a solid output and a very quick and lively sound preserving a profound bass and very natural voices. It likes a solid but not to heavy metal headshell. Besides the Jico Seto Hori and a vintage Ortofon Vero+ the Acoustical Systems Fideles is my favourite in the 1000 bucks class. |
Their turntable make the Clearaudio or a Techdas seem like a toy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3C84geXA8LU&t=489s You need a ignition key to operate it! A little much for a Barry Manilow LP, but perhaps a just opened 1969 Brit Led Zep or some 50's Living Stereo might sound better on it than your tweaked Rega from 1986. |
I disagree tablejockey. I think their tables are overdesigned and Techdas is clearly a superior product. I think it is great that they are releasing a MM cartridge but like their other products it is a rather mundane stylus and cantilever assembly in a fancy body. For $1200 it should at lease have a line contact stylus of some type and a more modern cantilever. I think Clearaudio, Ortofon, and Audio Technica have better cartridges in and below that price range. |
"I think their tables are overdesigned and Techdas is clearly a superior product." Mijostyn- I also think Tech Das has much more to offer if one is shopping on that level. My comment was just being sarcastic on the build. Having heard the Air Force One awhile back, I would get this https://techdas.jp/pages/air-force-zero/ |
