@rvpiano Now see what you've started by asking this question again? Civil discourse. Shame on you. 🤣
Amp — Leave on or turn off
I always turned my Benchmark AHB2 amp off after use every night. After all, why is there an on off switch on the front panel if not to do that? Last night I accidentally left it on. This morning, when I played my first record, I couldn’t believe my ears. The same record I played last night sounded infinitely better. I tried a second record and that, too, was much better.
I know there’s a debate on the question of leaving an amp on all the time.
I now know where I stand!

I agree with the underlying idea, here. Environmental consciousness is critical -- so critical that it need to be done thoughtfully, not with haphazard gestures that distract from the problem by offering an ineffectual solution. There’s a good website here, and it might be easy to just consider some tradeoffs. Instead of unplugging and amp, how about turning up your fridge by 1 degree -- or your heat/cooling by 1 degree? See how those things add up and live as you want. Of course, if you skip a plane flight once in a while, well, that puts a lot back in your kitty. And if you want, buy carbon offsets.
