Our contribution to pollution by leaving our amplifiers on can’t even be measured. I’m not saying we don’t need to be conscious about it, but the environmentalists on this thread…you guys are barking up a wrong tree.
I agree with the underlying idea, here. Environmental consciousness is critical -- so critical that it need to be done thoughtfully, not with haphazard gestures that distract from the problem by offering an ineffectual solution. There’s a good website here, and it might be easy to just consider some tradeoffs. Instead of unplugging and amp, how about turning up your fridge by 1 degree -- or your heat/cooling by 1 degree? See how those things add up and live as you want. Of course, if you skip a plane flight once in a while, well, that puts a lot back in your kitty. And if you want, buy carbon offsets.
