Audiohifistore.com is a SCAM

I personally know an individual who was scammed by this website and lost money. The website looks legitimate with actual photos of equipment, but the equipment was never delivered. The manufacturer of the equipment was able to verify the serial number of the equipment, so it looked legit, but this is a very slick scam. Beware!

Moral of the story: use a trusted seller.

The Isle of Man does seem like an odd location to stockpile 1M in high end audio gear.

thanks for the heads up.

Just checked out their site.

The only payment they accept is bank wire transfer.

They explain this by saying it’s so they can pass the lack of credit card fee on to you and so to verify you are really who you say you are.

That red flag could cover the Isle of Man.

A couple of points that should be made, most manufactures have it in their franchise agreements that a dealer can't sell on line, and if they allow it, is is at MSRP. Anytime you see something advertised for less, it should throw up a red flag.

I understand human nature is we want to "believe the deal", but take a deep breath, step back, and then run like hell!!!

Geez that’s quite a website for being a scam. Somebody spent a  ton of time putting that all together. I guess if they dupe a few people out of a few thousand $ now and then it’s worth it to them. Surprised it’s still up and running.

Just for s & g I looked around on Google maps for the given address. It doesn’t look like it exists. Closest thing is a car dealer/repair shop. There is a Bang & Olufsen store on the same street but that looks legit.

Any Agoners living on the Isle of Man?

So many scumbags out there, be careful!

They have lots of great products posted on their website. The price look pretty good. Hard to believe this is a scam it looks pretty good to me.

But I would never ever ever buy gear located in a foreign country.  Although if done through eBay and you document things well via emails between you and the seller they are pretty good at standing by the process and will honor returns that are legitimate.

Glad you posted this,.. thanks for the heads up!

Many people would not take the time and post this info glad you did!

Thanks for the heads up. Caveat emptor for sure. There are too many scams online.  Appreciate you sharing so someone else doesn’t get scammed. Hope everyone is safe and sound in the new year.

...which, when applied IRL.... makes a pause for the cause of nearly everything....

As the lovely smirking mid-Ms sez from her eye-level post reefer corner every morning pending:

Once you realize
nothing makes sense,
it all makes sense.

Thanks for the warning.  Although I’m sure surprised that they are still in business or that someone hasn’t taken matters into their own hands.

If it's too good to be believed...it's not.

The Isle of Mann is known for the moto race event that the normally sane lose it during the event.  This thread seems to indicate that some locals think that the madness is transferable.... ;) 😏

The credit card company eventually recovered the money @cleeds  but it took 2 months, so it was somewhat "happy ending". I bought (paid for) an amp for half the MSRP price, purchase was never confirmed or shipped. I think they have a warehouse of audio component PHOTOS :)

Audiohifistore.com posts unbelievably insane low prices for new super expensive audio gear that any reasonably rational audiophile should be instantly suspicious of and should never fall prey to.  At any rate, thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated!!!
