What sad news, one of the last of the outlaw country guys we had left and one hell of a song writer, just ask Waylon. Saw him a few years ago in Sugar land Texas and a year before that at a little place in Tomball, what a blast, one of those guys you would want to just sit and listen to his stories as you shared a drink with. Know what I will be listening to tonight. RIP
Billie Joe Shaver
Sad for me to see, this great songwriter and performer has died.
I saw him with his son as Shaver in SoHo London long ago, and a few years back as a solo with a band in Sellersville PA. He was fantastic each time, and was to return to Sellersville, I have a ticket, but that was cancelled.
For those who know him and his recordings, or those who only are familiar with the many covers of his wonderful songs, this marks a sad passing.
