Classe CT-SSP won’t shut down

do you also have flickering light bulbs even if you didn't turn on any light or coin dropping on the floor out of nowhere?

you can capture these moments with your camera including what you can't see.

I had a problem with an Oppo 205 (forget what it was doing but something along your line). Oppo said it is a known problem with Sony TVs HDMI protocol. Forget what I did but problem no longer exists. Try removing your Sony from the chain and see what happens. I’ll try to remember more specifics.

P.S. Found email between Oppo support and myself. Seems my problem was music dropouts when using a recently acquired Oppo 103D disc player.

Following is Oppo’s final advice:

"Sony TVs are unique in that they trigger HDMI handshakes even when they are off or in standby mode. Audio is briefly muted when a handshake takes place, and since the TV isn’t fully on, the handshake can never complete successfully, so you will have intermittent attempts (and intermittent dropouts) occur. The solution is to either have the TV turned on when listening to music, or remove the HDMI cable from the player when listening to music.

We have had customers report that they had success by changing the TV to a different input before turning off and also reports of success of using a HDMI switcher before the HDMI connection to the television. Unfortunately, these recommendations did not work for everyone and ultimately the TV either had to be on or disconnected via HDMI."
