Freya+ SE and Balanced outputs to your amp

If you have a Freya+ have you run SE output cables to your amp and then tried Balanced output cables to your amp? Did it affect the sound, and if so how? I am currently running 10 ft. SE outs, and am considering trying Balanced cables, and they would also be 10 ft. Your input is welcome!

Worlds best with Mogami.  not sure you will hear much of a difference unless you suffer from noise pickup

Well there is a difference between true differentially balanced and simple balanced outputs. The Schiit is not a true balanced unit and may actually sound worse than the SE outs depending upon the design. I guess I am not absolutely certain about the Schiit but I would be very surprised if it were a true balanced preamp.

The Freya+ is balanced and uses "JFET differential amplifier compound pair with equalized-gm followers" according to the manufacturer.

Bringing up an older post as I will be needing 35 foot XLR from my pre to main amp. Erik Squires: which Mogami and which ends would you recommend please?  I've always enjoyed your input and thoughts on Audiogon. Thanks, John

I used the following 25-foot XLR with the Freya+ and now the Benchmark HPA4 preamp. Love these cables between the preamp and the amp.

Benchmark Studio&Stage™ StarQuad XLR Cable for Analog Audio - Benchmark Media Systems

These get sold out quickly and eventually restocked.

Thanks for the Benchmark info.  I messaged Performance Audio for their recommendation and they came back with:

"If you want the best quality option the Mogami W2534 is the wire you are looking for, it’s a quad cable and has the best noise rejection. And I would use the Neutrik gold connectors (NC3FXX-B and NC3MXX-B). "
