Front ported or sealed monitors for shop

Finally getting around to setting up my basement woodworking shop and need some speakers.  Room is app. 12' x 30' x 7' ceiling.  Due to layout will be mounting on the short wall, possibly on small shelves.  Would like something with good dispersion as I will never really be in the sweet spot.

Not looking for anything fancy, maybe $5 -$600 budget?  Did a search here and many expensive models mentioned.  Certainly don't want anything pricey just to have it get all full of sawdust!  Internet search shows a few Elac or Wharfedale models may be promising.

Just found a pair of Boston acoustics A100 sealed design for $225 near me.  Might work but probably too big.

Thanks

Thanks all. Yes, been considering building my own as well.  Would be fitting for the workroom right?  Looked at the GR Research site but nothing front ported or sealed.  I will peruse the others, thanks for the links.

Multiple speakers might be the way to go at some future point.  Good idea!

About to cut up a gorgeous chunk of solid 10/4 Maple for my first amp stand.  Measure 10x and cut once!
One option, Look for a used pair of B&W 685s. Should not cost more than $350. Front ported, work fine on a shelf, Would fill room with sound.
Thanks mesch.  Interestingly, I traded in a pair of 686 a few years ago for a phono pre.  They were rear ported though so would not have worked.  The hunt is on!
