JL Audio SA-600w subwoofer amp for non-JL audio subs?

I have a MASSIVE pair of subs made by Destination Audio and looking for a good amp to power them. Right now I a Crown XPS and it's ok.  I saw this JL subwoofer amp but also read that's its made for their in-wall sub series. Does that really mean anything?  I love that this amp has JL's room calibration built in.

Thoughts?

I have JL Fathom subs in my main listening room and a Crown amp running my outdoor sub.....I'm very familiar with both.  If the connections match up for you, I would give the JL amp a try.  They punch above their weight, I believe the wattages they state are underrated.  They are very robust.  I'm very pleased with the JL room correction, it works very well.  Good luck and cheers.

I pulled the trigger on the JL SA-600w amp and I'm very glad I did. It just works well and is surprisingly "louder" and feels like it has more power than my Crown XPS. The DARO system works so well and easy/quick to use. I really like using the DARO calibration for subs as I feel like it's better and much easier than ARC.  Basically, I couldn't be happier and this is a great amp for people to consider who are doing DIY subwoofers.

I'm using the jl 600 on my Massive fostex sw800 sub/woofer with very good results.
