Just my observation - seems like there is less listed on AG

Seems to me like there is less and less gear listed on audiogon... compared to USAM.  Anyone else notice this?

I’m more inclined towards buying/selling locally nowadays due to the high costs and risks associated with shipping. Audiogon is not friendly towards local transactions. I might want to see or hear something before I agree to buy it. I might be happy to buy and pay through AG then pick it up in person. AG makes it difficult and frustrating to communicate with the other party and I resent the way their system makes accusations and blocks my ability to communicate with a seller even after the sale is complete.

The only saving grace is that Tammy is a gem and she gets things figured out quickly.

Based on the feedback here, I hope @admin (Tammy) takes the time to read this thread and work towards improving end users experience 🤞

Thanks for starting this thread, let’s hope something good comes out of it.

Too many commercial ads that take up space indefinitely make it hard to search for new listings without sorting through listings that don't even belong in the chosen category. Put a time limit on ads. When I go to USAM it is easy to see new listings in a category without all the unrelated junk.

@srgarrell agree Agon ads are almost exclusively by dealers, who would buy from an internet dealer especially if you have someone local. Also if you are truly interested in a kit call the importer/distributor who will give you the closest reseller.

I can't remember the last time I've looked at these classified ads. But the forums can be informative and at times entertaining

I generally try to sell locally (canuckaudiomart) but had a couple items not long ago that I figured would do better on Agon.  What a pain-in-the-*ss it was setting up an Agon listing vs canuckaudiomart (and as others say, they make it hard to communicate with the buyer).

One thing that surprises me in this thread is all the support for USAM.  I find it interesting that so many people use it to list and buy, yet their forums are a ghost town.
