Kenwood KD 650, Stanton cartridge

I have finally recognized that my mint KD 650 is just using up space, and that I should help it find a new home. It's a great turntable, but it just doesn't work spatially in the area where I do most of my listening. I can't find any examples of these in the marketplace, so I don't have any guidance on what to ask. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check HIFI SHARK for the current and sold listings. BTW, that's an outstanding table!

not so. if you don't know what something is worth, how would you know what to list it for?

I have one! It's worth at least $500. List it on USAudio Mart and save on paying a listing fee.

Photoboydc, don’t be disingenuous. It’s easy to determine an average value with a simple internet search. I’m not a buyer, but I think I’ve seen this unit at $500 or thereabouts.

I have a KD 500 and a KD 550. Great turntables and not without value, $500 and up is fair and realistic.

I purchased a KD550 in 1978 (ish).  I replaced the tonearm with a Black Widow (carbon fiber version) and a Pickering 3000.  I’ve never seriously considered replacing it,  In recent years I’ve had the BW rewired, replaced the dust cover (notoriously weak hinges) with a nice 3rd party lift off and installed a Grado Platinum cartridge.  It’s aged very well with my 20+ years of flying for USAF ears.

I almost added a KD650 three years ago; shipping was going to be too expensive.

Depending on where you live, I’d be interested in discussing your turntable.  I live in  the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.  Please send me a PM if you are relatively close by.
