Mundorf (non-oil) Silver / Gold EVO MCap Supreme coupling caps in your tube amp ???

Anyone have good luck with these caps in your tube amp?

>> Mundorf (non-oil) MCap Supreme EVO Silver/Gold coupling capacitors << .22uf / 1000VDC

Previously tried Clarity MR caps and Jensen Copper Oil caps in my prior (same brand) tube amp with decent success. The Jensen oils were nice and a bit more syrupy sounding than my former Clarity caps, were too harsh for me. Looking for something in between. Normally I almost always prefer oil caps; maybe not this time. We will see. For my newer tube amp, a few folks who modify/upgrade Cary tube amps recommended installing these Mundorf (non-oil) Silver Gold Supreme EVO caps - reportedly for a bit more "open and extended air, ,with more bass, and still retaining a nice lush sound" as compared to my former Jensen oil caps. I did listen to my exact same tube amp with similar tube compliment with high-end V-Caps and it was a bit too lean for my taste. I’m hoping these new EVO caps sit somewhere in between and still retain a nice smooth sound.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm running Mundorf Supreme's silver/oil in my KT88 single ended amp so can't answer your question, but here is another address if you're interested:

You are making me rethink replacing the original Wonder caps in my Melos 222 preamp with Clarity MR cap's though.

kdude66, boxer12, thanks for your replies and links. Most excellent. :)

The post by Jon L on the audio circle link describes precisely what I was told by the folks who steered me to these more standard Gold/Silver EVO Mutdorfs based on what I am looking for. I was a uncertain about stepping away from oil caps in my amp; but already have oil caps in my pre-amp, and these Mutdorfs are for my tube amp and Jon L on ac notes this - Nice!

" Silver/Gold has a bit richer presentation from top-to-bottom with a bit creamier textures and a bit closer imaging. As one can imagine from this description, Silver/Gold doesn’t *quite* seem to be as Nth-degree clean as VCaps but renders more proportion of recordings more tasty.

I do not believe detail resolution is any less than VCaps, but a tiny bit more harmonic "bloom" over the notes makes music both sexier and less pellucid at the same time. Some people will absolutely love this quality and call Silver/Gold much "better" than VCaps while others will absolutely declare VCaps to be the better cap for the same reasons.", unquote.
I replaced Solen FC coupling and bypass caps in my Consonance M800SE monoblocks with Clariycap MR's. For a resonable price gave better accuracy, detail and integration top to bottom. My next step will be upgrading the Power Supplies and then Resistors. For anyone with Consonance Amps check out Graham O'Neill mods for Ella Amps.

Thanks. Definitely want to hear back from others who’ve actually heard or tried these newer Mundorf Silver/Gold (non-oil) EVO Supreme caps.

I found the Clarity MR caps to be a little dry. The Jensen Copper Oils were nice and wet, and maybe even a tad slow in my amp. I would have ran them again but my amp has twelve (12) EL34 power tubes, gets pretty hot; i.e. don’t want to deal with oil cap failure a few years down the road. Hopefully these EVO supreme non-oil silver gold caps may fit somewhere between. That would be nice. Can't wait to get them, install them, and break them in. Heard that could take up to at least 100hrs as well. We'll see I guess.
Kenny / kdude66,
I re-read your reply and viewed the link you sent.  Very good, this helps me to place the Mundorf Silver/Gold EVO caps among others following the sound description provided in the review.

I'm curious about various differences you noticed switching form the V-Caps to these Mundorfs. Other than smoother, what else did you notice in comparison... ?
