New Electrial Wiring..

I am have an electrician pull (3) circuits into my "media room", a 20amp for my Bryston 28BSST, a 15amp for the rest of the audio set up and a 15amp for the HT set up...

Just my 2 cents, use the same wire gauge for all three dedicated circuits. If less than a 50' run, all three circuits #12 awg. Have him keep them pretty close to the same length if the equipment connected to the three dedicated branch circuits will be connected together by ics. All lessons the chance of ground loop hum problems.

Wire? NM-B cable. (Romex brand is an example of NM-B)
Rough in boxes? Plastic.
Breakers? 20 amp.
Install all three dedicated circuits on the same Line in the panel.

I have a pair of 28s also and all my wiring is 10awg.
My audio dealer said that would be the best route.
I don't think we want our 28s to be current hungry.
I also aquired a couple of Torus PIUs,but those are another story.If i had choice between 12 or 10 awg,I'd go 10,at least
you won't have to wonder what if.

Drum - Did you ever go with the Bryston Pre? I used to have a BP-25r with my 3BST and loved it...wondering how a Bryston pre would mate with the 28s....

John,I did and I'm very happy to say I have a BP-26(with the MPS-2) which I couldn't believe the improvement over my prepro.The 26 is so open,dynamic,alot more of the musical qualites I had forgotten about.She reminds me when your in a live situation or studio and the engineer or soundman gets the sound SO RIGHT.Very exciting and I'm totally satisfied.

I have seen threads which recommend that the breaker goes on the side not occupied by the furnace and big appliances.

Can you isolate further? There are some decent threads about all this to be found relating to ground hum and furnace noise on systems.

There is a dealer here in Arizona that carries the New Cardas 10ga wire for the house.Can get pricy if you are doing long runs..but really good stuff.

I recently had an electrician run 3 dedicated, 10ga lines for my equipment. I used 20 amp breakers for all the lines and Teslaplex outlets also on all 3. (Read the reviews) Also you want to make sure that the breakers in your box are put in out of phase with the refrigerator or furnace/ AC breakers. One outlet is for Amp and preamp. One outlet is for digital and the third if for all other front end stuff, TT, etc. Sound of my Cary stuff after completion is really resolving. Surprised at the huge difference.

Consider at least one dedicated grounding rod for the stereo. Also, Walker Extreme SST on all contacts in the box and at the outlet.

No "dedicated" or separate grounding rod. A supplementary grounding rod must be bonded to the main grounding electrode. I won't repeat myself as to the whys here. See the following link to previous discussion in a recent thread.
