My 105 has worked well for the 4 years that I've owned it. I did wind up calling their customer service a couple of times for issues that turned out not to be related to player. They were very responsive and helpful. Oppo gets good marks for product reliability. I would worry about Marantz or NAD which have less enviable track records and I would save the money
I agree with the others, save your money. Oppo's quality and support are very good. My 105 has operated flawlessly for over 2 yrs. Even if you're unlucky enough to get a rare lemon, you'll likely know it before the basic 2 yr warranty is up and have it replaced anyway.
