Power problems: Wind

With impeccable timing, the week after I write a blog on using a voltage regulator in your audio system my regulator on my audio system and the UPS on my PC start clicking in due to not lightning but wind.

I live in a weird place where rain/lightning often splits around us as it travels northeast.  This morning I woke to my Furman being off due to "Extreme Voltage."  I thought maybe there was a storm last night which might have caused it, but as the morning progressed I realized it isn't lightning which is causing problems but wind.  All my service is underground so the wind problem is not something I have any control over, it's outside.

Yes,the wind wreaks havoc where I live too.Wind storms all year and ice storms in the winter:-(

There seem to be isolated outages around me, not sure how much of this is the wind tugging on a line or if I'm feeling my neighbor's power going out.

Talk to DT. He has been crying about wind power and windmills for 4 years. Perhaps he is the expert. I do know he is a big giant windbag
