Static causing TT to turn on?

Hi,
Have a situation where clients turntable is turning on by itself. Control board has been replaced and it still does this. Manuf has not been able to reproduce the issue at the service center. Manuf. saying it could be static causing it to turn on. Has anyone heard of this happening??
