Synergy

Hello Audiogon community.  I'd like to share a quick story about synergy.  Since my last post regarding the Luxman integrated amplifier purchase, I've turned the page - so to speak - on my beloved Maggies and the Luxman.  I remodeled the house and my lady and I got married...both of which necessitated a downsizing of my system.  Out the old and in with new, as the saying goes. Anyway, I sold the Maggies, and I bought a pair of SVS Ultra bookshelf speakers on closeout (the outgoing model).  I then reached out to TMR Audio about a trade-in on the Luxman, and I settled on  a Vincent SV 500 hybrid integrated amp.  Streamer is still an older Bluesound Node and DAC is a Topping E50. Deep bass is handled by an SVS 3000 Micro.  My new system sounds amazing! Everything just seems right now, not that it didn't before, but the Vincent and the SVS seem to be a perfect match. I'm at the point now where I'm off the equipment merry-go-round, and I can just enjoy the music.   Synergy is a fantastic thing when you discover it.  Care to share your stories about equipment synergies?

Regards,

Congratulations on finding synergy and getting off of the merry-go-round!  I think I'm finally there as well.

@sls883, thank you!.  Good to be content with our systems huh?  Have a good one.

Good for you! You have discovered that more expensive kit doesn't always buy better sound.

I also bought the SVS ultra for my son on a close out special. What a bargin! Paired with a SB-2000. Wow! it sounds incredible. We upgraded his amp to the Galion TS-A75 and then we switched out his DAC.

Just for a fun experiment...we got an inexpensive Aune X-8 DAC on an 'open box special' for just over $200 and replaced the op-amp with the Sparkos ss2590 for another $100. This turned out to be the least amount of money that yielded the biggest improvement of all. ( replaced his Schitt Asgard).

We're done!!

Nice job synergy can strike when one least expects it! I heard some SVS bookshelves last weekend at CAF sounding excellent nice speakers.

@gdaddy1 Congrats sir! It sounds like you have your system dialed in. That’s what we’re all aiming for. Enjoy the music!

Congratulations on your marriage and your new system ( my wife would say in that order).  I agree with synergy.  The components have to work together to achieve what you’re looking and listening for within your budget.  Enjoy!

Congratulations

my synergy struck when my 38 year old ProAc Studio 3 (ATC mids and woofer) found love with a Cary CAD 200 ( powerful SS with tube like warmth). We are all happy.

@g2the2nd & @jond  thanks!  I get to work from home for the short holiday week, so music will be playing all day. Everyone enjoy the holiday...and the music!

Congratulations for the wedding.Good sounds, clarity, nice bass, expensive systems will not give you the joy of music if there is no synergy.
