Teac UD-503 Volume problem

Hi everyone. I have a teac ud-503 for years. Recently the volume will starting to drop and back to normal randomly after 15-20 mins use. This dac has a pre amp section and can be set to fix or variable. But no matter what setting it is, same thing happened after 15-20 mins use, no no matter using xlr or rca out put.  Any idea about it?

Thanks for your time

Some of the hardware/ instruments i install have weird logic issues , resetting doesn't always work but sometimes leaving them unplugged for a while exorcises the gremlins.   Unplug overnight if you havent already.

Good luck.

@oddiofyl thanks, i have tried to reset and unplug even overnight. But the same problem comes after using for a while, never happened when it just powered on. Totally no clue

@oddiofyl nope, but no matter what souce, (cd, computer, streamer, tv) using different conncetor (spdif, coax, usb), same thing happened

Sorry to hear that.   I would open it and reseat all ribbon and molex connectors.  Nothing to lose.  Could be something as simple as that.  Can you control the volume in variable mode ?   Weird problem

Call Tap Electronics @ 1 (714) 562-7400 - they are an official Teac service center. I think the guy I spoke to was called Sal and he was very helpful in diagnosing my problem.

@oddiofyl yes, fix mode, variable mode, +6 db mode, whatever...no matter where the volume set, it just happened. Opened and checked, no loose connection or soldering.

@srinisr thanks, will check it out.
